viking-like people, Inca-like people,
and medieval knight-like people none of these cultures fit together at all... you're going to end up witha really strange twisted art style. I get the impresion this wasn't thaught out at all.

He has a point, the knight like people will most likely slaughter everything because of there advanced defences and armour. whereas the Vikings will be slaughtered as they wore light woolen shirts and used larger heavy weapons. Not suitable for huge scale battles as they would be easily slaughtered by arrow volleys. and Inca? They would be slaughtered along with the vikings. Maybe you should aim something more like this?
Fighting over Britain: Celts Saxons Romans This allows you to have three great armys all relatively powered like so: Celts: Hundreds of them, they know the landscape and territory well as well as have good herbalism skills and great stealth through the forest landscapes of Britain. Saxons: The great invaders of the north, they travelled by ship to invade britain after hearing that the roman soldiers will be leaving to make there colony smaller. They send a great mass of men to attack the hadrians wall, they come bearing little horses and armour, but are trained greatly with weapons. Romans: Romans are the advanced, they use heavy armour and elite weaponry, sure they know little of the lie of the land but they have Riders, armour and weapons to try and conquer all that oppose them, Romans are at war with many people including the saxons, celts and many others all around the world, so not a great amount of troops will be on guard, although there superior technological advancements will allow them to defeat a much larger mass of them, they will also have superior training. I Have written each group as a equal, so that no group would be stronger or weaker than the others, Romans could use some tweaking, maybe cut down there numbers quite greatly, or make them not that much greater with the lie of the land ( Slow movement except when mounted ) |

Well about the leader part, I'm kinda organizing the whole thing, but as far as suggestions for the game go, its down to popular vote.
Also, for those of you who think the diverse cultures are unbalanced: hello, its a FANTASY mmorpg. The vikings will still have their own style of heavy armor, and the Incas will have more magical type armor that'll have the same effect. In the end the classes will be balanced. Also, about the artwork, its not like its all going to be on one island that randomly has all the cultures in a very close vicinity, because that would just be weird. The map of the world will be very big, with the incas living in the tropical south, the vikings in the north, and the knight in the plains in the middle. The wars are going to be somewhat like this: Viking raiders will be attacking the knights from the north, and the knights will be sending logging companies and missionaries into the tropics, which the Incas have to defend against (somewhat like the conquistadors, exept that itll be more balanced, and there isnt going to be any disease or anything like that). Also, thare will be many neutral territories in the east, where you may encounter, sarazen-like nomads of the desert for example. Anyways, thanks for the suggestions. |

yes but you charecters travel everywhere and a Knight is going to look rediculous standing next to an Inca temple...
another thing about the 3 differant cultures is that they're all so differant enviromentaly that you'd have to make 3 completly differant sets of enviromental models etc. that's very ambitiuos for a project that doesn't even have a leader. It's just not a very suibtable game idea, trust me on this...

We are not going to make one gigantic game with all the classes in it. At first, we are just going to have the knight people in our game, and then we are going to add expansions with the vikings and later the incas, as we gain more experience in game making.
And as ive said, I'm organizing it all, but game ideas are decided on popular vote. |
