Well im probably going to buy guild wars soon so I got some questions.

Should I wait for GW2 to come out? Is it an expansion or an actual game? Will it come out anytime soon?

If I have enough money for the game and 1 expansion pack wich one should I get?

Is there anything to do besides killing things and doing quest such as fishing?

GW2 is a totally new game. It won't be out for a while though.

There is only one expansion pack, Eye of the North and that can be accessed by either of the versions, Prophecies, Factions or Nightfall. I suggest you get Nightfall and Eye of the North. Factions is for advanced players, Prophecies has a tad bit long campaign, Nightfall is just nice.

However Nightfall adds the newer classes of Paragon and Dervish, while Factions adds the classes Assassin and Ritualist.

No sidejobs, the only thing you do besides killing things is killing other players, which is rather satisfying.

Yes Prophecies doe have a mildly long campaign, but its not very hard to do, except for the last few missions.

I would recommend that you get prophecies and Nightfall

or

If you would rather play a Guild Wars game where you do missions, kill other players, and by doing so gain faction points to do many things with your faction.

Just to inform you if you dont know, Factions are just a group of guilds that are allied with one of two alliances, the Kurzick or Luxons, there isnt much difference between the two.

Alliance battles are the main thing on this game, the battles consist of 3 groups of four for each team, instead of one group of eight on each side, and to win your team has to be the first to reach 200 or 500 (i dont quite remember the number)pts to win the battle. then you get alliance pts to spend on ur guilds rep, get items, learn alliance specific skills, or get scrolls to go to the underworld.

sorry i wrote too much, but guild wars is just that much fun
