i life in the part of netherland called Noord Holland
I like to make friends and i hate people that start being rude at the start of the conversation just to prove there right

Seeking:
(Im looking for a project where i can evlove my self whit any thing that i can do/learn i would like to work on any gerne and mostly on a rpg type

Skills:
(I have got like a year experience of gfx and learn a bit of vb6 not to much to go trought whit i would like to learn whats needed in the project starting to learn python at the moment
and i know how to script whit Autohotkey
if any other skills needed i would try to learn
as much i can
im working on a other project to at the moment but where in need of more
C/C++/D Programmers

I work whit : PS2,PS3 in the format png,jpg,bmp
and whit Autohotkey

If you want to get into game design you have three optionst that I can think of off the top of my head.

1) Concepting:
This would give you the influence within a project to sculpt the art style of the game etc. But you haven't shown any drawring abilities (traditional or digital) as of yet and if you had these abilities i'm sure you'd flaunt them.

2) Pixel art/Spriting:
This also requires creativity and a sense of proportion and anatomy. It's not easy to learn and there's a wory that if you throw yourself into this style now there's a chance that in 20-30yrs when the need for spriters has died out more you'll struggle to find work. (alot of people will disagree but it is slowly diing out, even mobile phones are starting to get some basic 3D games now and 32bit sprite colour limitations etc. are starting to become un-needed. There will allways be pixel art but I think the demand willshrink in the future)

3) Texture painting:
This would probably require you to learn a fair bit of 3D to get into the industry as you'll start out with quite general jobs but you could refine your skills and specialize into painting textures for other peoples models once you get in the industry if you really wanted. (this is also starting to come under threat as programs like Zbrush have pretty much incorporated texturing into the sculpting process)


At the minute from what I can see the only things you could offer a game development team/company is maybe helping on the graphical side of a website and GUI. Neither of these would really get you into the heart of game development as, from the sound of your post, I get the impresion you want.


Is game dev somthing you can see yourself doing in the long run or just as a hobbe? If you want to make a career out of it you should look into expanding your skill range.

Sorry if this has put youdown at all, and sorry for all the spelling and other silly mistakes I have undoubtably made... It's getting late :P

Well, modeling is more of an art form, so having an eye for detail is a good place to start and know what you are doing. Most applications share the same exact tools, only some may name them differently.

Wings 3d, deled, blender, gamespace, milkshape, which are affordable packages that are good for just modeling.

Follow a few blender tutorials and you will be able to make animations and video renders for such.

yeah, i'd have to recommend blender.

2.5 is on the way and I would say that once you manage to rummage through all the misfit features to what you need it can compete with the larger software packages and is completly free. It's also alot less of a strain on your computer.

Google the rather poorly named "blender: noob to pro" wiki tutorials, once you've worked through them all you should be ready to make some interesting work.

One very important piece of advice when learning modelling is to get as many contacts who are knowlegdable in it as possible, it will pay dividans when you're looking for critique or looking to get input on the best way to set up lighting etc.

best of luck to you and sorry if I seemed slightly snappy earlier, some of the posts here really annoy me (not yours as you seem willing to learn)
