Erm what about buying Half Life (isn"t it free yet? cmon it moar than 10 years old) and DL for free the mods like Natural Selection, Day Of Deafeat , The Specialist, ESF , even CS 1.6... Cos i am not sure if the mods works whit one of those "old school retail cs versions". And CS is horribly boring, i ended only playing those surf maps and still.. once a month.

Your opinion is fucking stupid

In COD your recoil hardly changes the way you shoot in 1.6 recoil depends on everything, 1.6 is probably one of the only FPS out there that require a decent amount of skill to be good at.. Its not a game where you can run and shoot its got alot strategy and teamwork involved in it that doesnt compare to most games.. in the GFX department that really doesnt matter... I highly recommend 1.6 even though i play css now... 1.6 is still very good.

Get CS you wont be let down.

The Counter Strike Anthology, obviously.

Depends on what type of game you're looking for.. Call of Duty is alot more fast paced than CS and is more of a run and gun type game. Counter Strike isn't "realistic" but more so than Call of Duty. Counter Strike doesn't have a real single player, though. So if you're looking to go thru a story line get Call of Duty, for sure.

I've been playing CS (Including Source) since about 1999.. I probably played Call of Duty for alittle less than a year.

Don't listen to half of these people on onRPG, Counter Strike is so much more challenging than Call of Duty. Since I've been playing, I've been in countless Main, IM and Open teams.. I haven't played "seriously" in years, but if you're looking for a challenge, go with CS. People have been playing this game for years.. and if you've never played CS before pubbing will probably be challenging at first, much less playing in any leagues.

1.6 is very active.. for some reason I highly doubt Call of Duty is anywhere as active as 1.6 is.. tons of people still play. The only reason it's behind on xfire is probably because xfire isn't really needed anymore with the new (Not really anymore.. :c) Steam overlay.

I'd go with 1.6 for sure, they're both great games, even to this date.. but I honestly think you'll get alot more bang for your buck with CS. x3

Really? I've heard CS was just a run and gun game. Although, if you compare CS with america's army in terms of skill, graphics, and tactics... I bet CS Gets raped 90000 times...

But looking at the Op's Specs, get CS.

Counter strike is better because it's made by Valve, and they have great customer service. I really cat say anything about the dev team on COD, but that's because I don't know their name.
