I do hope Turkey beats Germany (even though I think Croatia deserved to go through instead of Turkey)! They only got through cause Ballack pushed Paulo Ferreira so he could scored (irregular goal, shouldn't have been validated) and they had a penalty kick against them that the referee decided to let go... Once again Germany is carried through not by merit but because they are supposed to be a football power...

And I was glad Spain won. Italy played rubbish all through the tournament (like they always do) and were more worried about making faults and stopping the plays by hitting the opponents than playing soccer...

Let's see what happens but I'm glad Italy is out

Germany outplayed Portugal anyway, so they deserved the win. Fact: Germany ARE a football superpower. One of the most successful ever beneath Brazil.

Russia deserved that win, Netherlands got lucky with that goal in the last 5 minutes of the match. But Russia ended the game out great with the 2 goals which they should of already had 60 minutes into the game.

Seems like it'll be Russia vs Spain. Italy has been playing horrible.. I don't think they'll be able to keep up with Spains speed unless they get their acts together.

Right now Spain has already won the match.. but those Italians are slimy and always find a way through. I hope its true when they say the Italians always start up slow.

But in the end... for this tourney Spain has been the better team... they are being called the undogs in this match though.. but all the underdogs have been winning... lets see where this takes us tomorrow.

This may all be true.. and trust me this is true. But that last goal came because the Russian's couldn't finish their chances. If you see some action and then how they can miss that.. it's just horrible.

Agreed. Croatia was my favourite team. I love how Daniel Pjanjic passes the balls in to the goal field... I just love their play style. It's all team based. The only ones who dribble are Olic and Rakitic. But they are both good at it, and Olic is actualy the fastest player in the cup.

Oh well...

Did you saw the same game as I did??? They started way better and score twice (nothing to say there) but after the 2nd goal they weren't able to do a thing... at least not regularly... but of course that if you consider bending the rules to be a reason for one team to outplay the other, then I guess your comment is valid

Olic isn't faster than Thierry Henry, Phillip Lahm etc.

I felt sorry for Toni's failed kick and clearing the ball from his team mate. But Spain deserved to win. Torres,as pointed out early, is a flunk after all. He played average but Guiza didn't play any better, in my opinion. Fabregas is a good player but you could see he was very nervous and in the end, he ended up pulling a Cristiano Ronaldo and messing up Spains attack play. I can only congratulate Buffon and Casillas, they are amazing goal keepers.

Norrin, Germany was playing SHIT against Portugal. The only goal that deserves merit was the first goal in that one two play. Portugal dominated the match and Germany only managed to win due to height and the fact Ricardo is one bad keeper. Portugal needs a better keeper, a better midfield (Excluding wingers and Deco) and needs a good striker. However,the striker problem could be fixed by making Ronaldo a striker instead of a winger since making players like Quaresma or Nani sit on the bench isn't a good idea. Ronaldo's also higher than Nuno Gomes so he'd make a better striker than him. They also could need a Left Back that is an actual lefty. I still say that could be fixed by making Miguel Veloso LB.

Fuxey, I think Olic isn't any faster than Lahm or Bosingwa. I simply adore Bosingwa's speed. He is VERY fast.

Nichons, we all know you are american and football is traditionaly European. But pointing out that womens basketball is more popular than football? You are telling me that there's an actual continental and worldwide competition that attracts BILLIONS of people to watch matches and root for their country in womens basketball?

If the girls were from Playboy mansion and played nude I would even consider that... otherwise, NOT A FAT CHANCE! Football (not soccer! there is Football and American Football - which is a shielded version of rugby with some rules changes) is the most played and seen sport in the world.
