right click on this computer>properties>advanced>start up and reboot settings (or something like that).

you see the option Reboot computer automaticly? switch that off.

set the option saying small memory dump to none.

Either way, if he doesn't have anything important that he will lose, reinstalling vista is probably the fastest and best method to do here.

I know that depending on your problem, it can take at least twice as long to fix a problem than it would to reinstall the os.

It looked like he had several programs raping his registry, so after all that, I probably wouldn't even want to fix it... just start again instead.




Just remember, when you reinstall you should not install crapware.
No tweak programs, registry rapers, ram boosters, internet accelerators and all that other bullshit that just wrecks computers.

Uhh.... ok.
So you havn't backed up anything? That's a problem.

First we need to know everything about your computer. What make/model is it? Did you add any other components? etc etc etc
We cannot help you much further without knowing your FULL HARDWARE SETUP.


FYI:
Never use 1 harddrive only. Always have two. 1 for windows. 1 to put all your shit on (music, movies, documents, etc). that way, should windows **** off, it is no big deal. Just reinstall it and you are good to go.

I just found out something AMAZING guys, my dad is a god...at computers. He went over to my computer and told me to get off. So, I watched him attempt to fix my computer. My thoughts "Heh, dad doesn't even know what he's doing" then, he just looked around at some files in safemode, he didn't change anything...yet..he fixed my computer... I swear, all he does is need to touch the mouse of your computer and the computer will fix itself

It was that easy of a fix.... damn you made it sound ****ed dude. The way you described it made it sound like epic fail.

But then again you didn't give us any info to go on whatsoever.

Remember for next time:
-full system specs including all hardware and anything plugged in
-operating system
-exact word for word error messages
