Btw, just in case you didn't know FallOfIdeals, you listed DirectX 10 there, but you can't run DX10 with anything below a GF 8 series card. If you knew that and were just listing the fact you were on Vista and capable of running DX10, I apologize in advance
 As per your question: Warsow Nexuiz (though it's a very advanced Quake based engine so you may have to turn some stuff down) Tremulous Urban Terror (very popular standalone Quake 3 game, normally has over 1,000 people playing at any given time with a ton of maps to boot) World of Padman (but the community for it is VERY small, but it is a very fun game, also Quake 3 based) Wolfteam Tactical Ops (Unreal Tournament engine game, it isn't free, but you could always "search" for it) OpenArena is a great game, it's literally Quake 3 just a free version. Normally has around 100-500 players, depending on the time of day. Of course there is Warrock and Soldier Front. Combat Arms is coming out again soon, and is very very good as others have said. Worth playing that one imo. There are many others of course.

Wolfteam if you can deal with the lag, the hackers, and the glitchers.
its a good game but its good with friends in your area.

Warsow depending on the time of day normally has between 50-350 or so players.
