I third GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka).

I also recommend Hajime no Ippo. You can watch it, or read it, but the anime is discontinued. It does, however, give you a good 300 chapter jump into the manga, though.

Also...FLCL. 6 episodes of smex.

If you want another "Oh Wow" anime. Then you should check out Ghost in the Shell because it follows the same kind of trickery as Death Note.

Also try Monster if you like drama/thriller/horror/suspence.

Just started it yesterday. Got to episode 17, and it's flipping awesome. It's rarely predictable, and is full of ownage.

What the hell is the NHK

and i haven't lol'ed so hard at a show in a long time.
