Having something different every episode was good because it made it interesting and you never knew what was going to happen.
Not like every other anime where they do the same thing over and over plus the storylines which you can foreshadow from the very beginning...
I Totally agree.

Though you can say that, its a downside for those who want a full story. What would've happened if you were expecting some kind of dramatic ending?
It would've been the same thing from episode one to episode-end.

Yeah! It was really annoying at first, but action gets better later on.

Dramatic endings = unoriginal...Them getting all emotional and them getting married blah blah blah... I personally liked how it didn't have a majorly dramatic ending like that because for one thing it's something different we can and enjoy while taking a breather from all the regular plot-line that the creators would put down and getting a very interesting story that could leave you with a feeling of relief and how they would deal with it coexisting with Mushi. Each episode was great and was filled with either profound joy, deep sorrow, loyalty, love, or even ghosts from the past. Mushi-shi is just an anime of short stories so you're right and it doesn't have an overarching storyline, no build up to a big ending, or any ending for that matter of any sorts but mainly focuses on one episode and that what makes it TRULY different from other anime's.
What it does offer though is a clever way of storytelling and while Ginko was not always enough to fend off what was burdening the people but struggle for them as well then at the ending it challenges the viewer on what really was being told in the story. Ginko wasn't the protagonist in most of the episodes but played a pivotal role but there was one where he was the main dude and that was flashback to his past to where he was young. Those are the reasons why I found it refreshing and unique AND that's why it will be a gem in my eyes because it truly is a masterpiece.
