yes there were lots of people above the age of 40. Yet a good 80% of the community was VERY immature and childish. it's sad because I wasted so much of my time on the game. I excluded myself from others in real life back then. It's sad because I could have done something far more productive with my life. Games are nice and all, yet in a way they're a drug, good in moderation.

Ya know, runescape is about more than the combat, the main selling point to runescape (IMO) is all the non combat stuff.

totally agree with you on that. and they added in the grand xchange, which, imho, is stupid. its now waaay to easy to earn money....and the trade system kinda really sucks. plus. no more pk?!? T-T. but the huge draw, which i never found in any other rpg i played, was the ability to do ANYTHING u waanted. if u didnt want to train ever, and instead wanted to, say, chop tress, then you could.

and the bit about 80% of the community being very immature and childish. well, that was 2 or 3 years back. NOW, that 80% is actually quite mature and no so childish, not to mention extremely helpful...im back in game as well...ign Neralo91, add me....

I use to appreciate the game. I am a level 70 and I don't know whether to get back into the game or not.

Are there still a lot of beggers? I love beggers and something I WILL give them free stuff.

I'm really liking the new fullscreen update. I renewed my membership today just to check it out. I must admit, they still need to fix a few things on it (like the way the right top corner is way too sensitive, it takes you out of fullscreen mode too easily...) but hey...it's still in the beta stage!

I do think runescape's making a comeback. I've been playing for about four years now and many things have changed. One of their most controversial updates ended up destroying basically all the bots, which i'm really thankful for.

Overall, I think runescape is perhaps the best free online game there currently is.

Hi again! Sorry, I was gone for quite some time now, and I thought it was time to catch up on this thread.

I am hearing what all of you have to say, and I do believe with a lot of you, especially the 80% thing, the one about how it is better now, and I am sorry there are not too many beggars anymore because of the trade system. On that subject =

The only things that Runescape needs to think about is the trade system and Pk'ing. Of course they stopped a lot of scammers and bots because of the 3k limit to EVERYTHING, but they again lost MILLIONS of dollars, and not to mention members, because of it, also everyone is complaining about it now and sooner or later, Runescape is going to be in a basic state of civil war over it! Like I said before, why stop maybe 10,000 people who wish to waste their money on a game instead of using it to buy other necessities that you can actually use, and make the whole community (Runescape claims to have over 350 million) suffer for their irrational choices.

Now personally, I was not much of a big Pk fan myself, but I know people who's whole lives on Runescape were based around it. Pures-useless, High strength, low combat-useless, mage/ranger pures-USELESS! Lots of people and items are now rendered useless around that singe update, and people gave up Runescape mostly because of that. Pk'ing in Runescape was one of the key aspects of the games, and had lots more people signing up for accounts and membership than anything else.


I do not agree with these two updates, but I do think that Runescape has made comebacks over the years and has gone from a low renowned, annoyance littered games, to a nice social wonderland where you can ask questions, and get a kind and respectful answer.
