If anyone is interested in casual beta testing of our Indie developed online FPS we would be very interested to hear from you. The game is still under construction and is infact in closed beta while we continue to add content and build. We are after several more closed beta testers to join the tests. This would involve from as little as 1/2 hr sessions a few times per month when we need to load-test the servers or check new builds to as much time as you want to spend - we have a few beta testers who now contribute ideas and 1 who is tweaking game levels with the engines editing software.

Everyone who participates in a test will get credit in the games credit list and anyone who shows keen interest and gets involved with the game more deeply will get moderator (Sentinel) control once the game is made public.

Brief description
(Pitfighters is a FREE multiplayer futuristic 3D first person shooter. It's designed for quick, frantic, fast paced gameplay to fill in those gaps between 7 hour sessions of Battlefield etc. or your favourite MMORG. We have tried to make it as easy as possible to sign-up and play the game. One button is all you need to start the fight. So get ready to fight your way to the top of the leaderboard any way you can!

Pitfighters is a fully independent game title - it is not a MOD. The community who are helping to develop the game span the globe. From America to Estonia, from the UK to Newfoundland. We don't have a $1,000,000 budget or 100+ staff but we love games and enjoy the huge task we have ahead of us!

Game Features
1. Live online scoreboard and statistics for every game played.
2. Dynamic servers - spawned when required, killed when no longer required.
3. Inbuilt low CPU usage MP3 player
4. In-game advertisement boards (so the game remains free to those who play)
5. Automatic patching system
6. Player designer - tailor your player
7. Live moderators system to police the game (Sentinels & Omnipotents)
8. Co-operative elements
9. Spectate, practice and Client-Sync (find and practice with friends) modes
10. Interactive Lobby with IRC And much more ...

Target aim
The product will be Freeware. Ingame advertisment boards may be used to gain income to keep the game free (think like the adboards that surround football grounds).

Compensation
Credit listing to all who help. If you are contributing greatly (3D models/coding etc.) we can come up with a contract for % of income generated.

Technology
We are using C++, custom scripting, Lightwave3D, 3DWS (World Studio), notepad :P

Talent needed
Specifically we need several beta testers but if you are interested in contributing any other talents we are open to suggestion.

The Pitfighters website has more information. If you have any questions ask here or there. We are also working on Rival Gangs which is a MMOFPS version of Pitfighters. This will feature similar 'lore' and tech of Pitfighters but in a single server with a much larger player slot allowance (200+). This one is a few months off of closed beta and is still in Alpha testing (the dedicated server is proving expensive and 'twitchy').
