Jamas carefully scanned the tents, looking for a pallet that was open. After a few minutes he spotted someone who was clearly a goner, and began moving Yume towards him. As they approached, he coughed his last breath, and the medic kneeling over him shook his head, motioning with his arm for someone to take him away.
Not two seconds were gone before Jamas had usurped the bed, and Yume was lying down on the ground upon it. The medic shot a scowl at him, but ducked to his work, carefully peeling away the stopgaps they had been using on Yume's wound. The medic briefly examined her first; lifting her shoulder off of the ground to look at the exit wound; gently probing around the opening as Yume moaned at the pain; and finally he was placing a small cloth that looked to be soaked in some herbal concoction over the the two wounds and began closing them up with bandages.
Finally he sighed, looked up, and said carefully to the group, with a doctors professionalism and the weariness of one who does this sort of thing all too much, "Thats all I can do. It will continue to hurt for a while, but she'll live. Thats more then I can say for most of the guys who will probably come in here." And with that, he was away to other patients.
Standing up, Jamas planted the butt of his spear into the ground next to him and looked to his commander. With a blank face, he addressed Dolosus, "What are your orders, sir?"
