if your gonna get a card i recomend you go with an 8800 i just recently had my 8600 and pretty much yea i can play games but aoc was a hassle to run...i would get some crazy lag spikes and had to leave the gfx on low/medium....crysis would run with some settings on high but the settings that made it look uber sexy had to be on medium.....other than that all other pc games worked all on max as well

yah I still would suggest an 8800gt or higher....

their are alot of new games coming out that would eat the 8600 for lunch....

if want your games to look great that is...

if you don't mind medium settings then go for the 8600 it's just later on you will have to upgrade alot quicker

It's still a laptop, so i cant replace with a 8800

its just weird. my friend plays AoC on highest with a quad core and the 8600 gt and he gets 70 fps :S ... and i mean everything maxed!

i should not have any problems running it on medium at least then, eh? with a dual core 2.4 and 4 gb ram ( 64 bit vista)...?

I think that you could run AOC on HIGH. I ran Crysis on high with similar specs.( I don't think AOC is more demanding than Crysis.)

Whats your GHZ on your duocore?

It's all there. 2.4 dual core of the newer sort.

I have a 2.4ghz core2duo too....

I think you might be able to run it on high if you disable shaders.
