They did, I must say that Microsoft pretty much did the opposite, it seems they changed the way buttons were arranged a bit and changed to shape from xbox to 360 controllers for comfort and now it's more similar to the playstation controller model, but I don't see a real ripoff anywhere :S

Now you make me want to do all that in pictures

(seriously from the old xbox controller to the most recent, they all looked more and more like ps controller xD)

controllers now adays are too fragile, i remember throwing my PS2 controler at the wall because a game was pissing me off and it shattered.
i looked at it and just thought "what a pussy" then bused out my nes and played that for a while.

New xbox controller

Playstation controller (so yeah it's kinda the new xbox controller that tried to look more like a playstation controller xD the first xbox controller being based off dreamcast one apparently...)

Also don't say theres no similarity between the xbox and dreamcast controller, just look at the analog on upper left above directionnal buttons...

(yeah pictures since I have no screenies...)

@person under me : I never said it was innovative I'm only talking about the main shape :S and it's normal in industry to '' rip off '' (use ideas that were already used once, well, to progress you must adapt) you know it's not because someone else created analogs n'stuff that they shouldn't use them

The sony controllers are NOTHING innovative. If you look closely at the development cycle of the sony controllers you can see exactly where sony got the ideas for their controller. Blatant ripoffs of both Nintendo and Microsoft's old PC controllers.

Oh and geometry wars is the best game to play when waiting for a download

It seems like the 360 controller is the most reasonable for PC gaming, because they are the most compatible with recent games. I tried Prototype with a PS2 controller using an adaptor, and I find I have to use XPadder which basically sucks.

ha ima now using a wireless mouse and keyboard logitech which i got for a present so they were free ! and they do the same thing as your 20$ does !
