Having both options is surely better than 1, Runescape did it and Runescape 2 wasn't that different, just better graphics and slightly less hardcore.

Meh I have no idea, their server now would probably just go completely dead if they did though is my guess.

Sony tried to reach the mainstream audiences too hard, and ended up disappointing a lot of loyal fans....that's mostly what I don't like about the whole thing. It also seems they really dumbed it down just so they could attract a larger crowd, or try to. It's the same thing they did with MxO and it went completely dead as well, though it wasn't as bad as what they did to SWG.
