But how good will a intel core2duo processor with 2.4 ghz work with a bfg nvidia geforce 8800 GT oc 512 ram?

well to be honest it should run all games out now because i myself have an amd 64 2.4ghz and its single core im using it with a 9800 and all games run perfect for me.....so that should work perfectly for you...

It'll work fine, you won't have any problems with the pair. I would recommend a faster CPU, but that's your choice.

This is your CPU - $120.

This is the Wolfdale 3.0ghz processor with the newer 45nm technology - $190.

You can find better CPUs that are cheaper as well, that was just a great processor. If you want an example, here's a good one.

Another Wolfdale processor with the newer 45nm technology at 2.53ghz - $130.

I got my Wolfdale 3,0GHZ for 140€. It's one awesome processor

You might also wanna throw some Ram in there a 512mb-1g stick isn't that much know a days and it will improve performance. Overall that game will run almost all games out know.
