its just some modified files to act as if its dx 10 but in al reality its just dx9....if you play on vista with the actual dx10 you'll see a difference.....honestly i miss my windows but it seems like they fixed some vista issues i always hated so i guess it wouldnt be too bad.....still wish i can have my xp

Much how they strip down XP installation to the bare bones to make it optimized, there are ways to strip Vista installation down to the bare bones.
http://www.vlite.net/ Be wary of the stuff it's going to delete. If you know what you're doing you culd always do this manually. Last edited by TheJESTERJ; 07-10-2008 at 07:38 PM. |

For Crysis, XP's minimum is 512MB, on Vista the minimum is 768MB. Quote:
It's the same as trying to add RAM via software. It can't be done. It's a physical component on the system itself and no amount of software can change that. Though I'm sure if you were skilled enough you could make some other set of graphic function libraries which is comparable to DX10 with current hardware. But that is not DX10. It's not true DX10. That project never finished, only got about halfway through, so you have half of DX10, if you have a DX10 card. Thing is, DX10 doesn't give you that much performance increase. It was cool, but it was wayyyyyy over-hyped. The cool things with it is much better water visuals and lighting. Thats about it. There are other improvments, but nothing to cream your pants over. If you get like a $3000 custom build system, DX10 should be considered. But a system below that, you'd get much better preformance improvments by approching it from other sections.
