ive converted to the darkside.....hello vista
well since upgrading my pc a bit ive become a gfx whore and feel the need to push my pc to its limits.....i couldnt do that on xp with direct x 9 and dual booting kept giving me errors since both my windows xp and vista are "borrowed" so ive converted to vista just to get me some uber gfx.....im in the process of updating everything now so in a bit i'll be in gaming heaven

vista is actually more of a resource hog then XP and because of this is worse for gaming
if you really wanted to you could make XP like vista and that way it looks cool and still rocks for gaming.

yea but vista has the 1 thing xp doesnt have......direct X 10....yea they made some fixes for that but too many people are having issues with it and id rather not deal with those issues

I use vista only for directx 10 games...
vista actually uses about the same amount of RAM as compared to xp though because vista is still so buggy I stick with windows xp for everything else.... btw.....Crysis looks awesome on max setting with directx 10 and the realistic lighting mod I have.....heck alot of the directx 10 games look alot better... |

There are ways that you can reduce the usage of Vista when playing games and some have said it works very well. I suggest googling it, I personally have problems gaming on Vista on my laptop only with MMO's. Besides now adays you can easily get a PC with 4-6gigs of RAM.

that trick doesn't work......it is impossible.....trust me if it wasn't they would already have something like it out that you could just download......
I have tried it myself...... directx 10 will only work for vista PERIOD oh and a directx 9 card will only use directx 9........ directx 10 cards (8 and 9 series for Nvidias) will use directx 10 Last edited by BanMido; 07-10-2008 at 01:57 PM. Reason: -=Doublepost=- |
