Our community shouldn't be punished because of a stupid rule. The whole point of a forum is for discussion. It's supposed to be a place where people can teach others about the game, discuss the great things about the game, and complain about the game as well. The screenshot sticky was a place to share the pictures we had about the game. There is no point in showing other people screenshots if we aren't even allowed to discuss them. The only reason I post in the screenshot sticky was to share what I did in the game with other people, but I also wanted to hear what they had to say about my pictures. With the rule that people who post in the screenshot sticky must post a picture in the thread', there would be a dramatic decrease of posts. I don't know about you guys, but not everyone plays Maplestory every day. During school days, I never play on the weekdays, and get about a hour a week on Maplestory. Does that mean I can only post once a week in the screenshot sticky? Besides, not everyone takes (or can take) screenshots as they play. Maybe they miss something. Maybe the system is just messed up for them. Why should anyone be forced to post screenshots just because they want to reply to someone else's message?

I know everyone has noticed that since the Screenshot sticky had been taken down in the first place, there has been a drastic change in activity. Before, I'd check Onrpg a couple times an hour, and I'd always see new posts. Now with the forum, I'd check maybe once or twice a day but all I would only see the same posts. This forum is dying out. I don't know about you, but I'd rather have a little spam but a lot of discussion between the members of this community than have 5 'perfect' forum posters have a discussion once every year. The screenshot sticky was the place to socialize. Some people visited the forums solely for the screenshot sticky. Take it away, and there will be no one around to post.

This is my note to Olaph. You're a moderator. You've been a moderator for the past 5 years. I've been a idiot for the past 5 years, but that doesn't mean I don't get to have a say in this. Your. Rule. Was. Stupid. I know nothing about being a moderator, and I know you must have been a little pissed to see some people disobey your rule. I just don't think you made a good rule. Instead of forcing everyone to post screenshots, you could have just warned the people who spammed and broke the forumwide rules. Maybe you don't want to do the job all by yourself, and I can understand why. If that's the case, just ask Gabriel to appoint a few more mods who are actually active every single day. Warn and ban the people who spam and flame. Don't warn those who are mearly adding to the discussion.

Yes, this is me telling you how to do your job.

I wasn't even here the 2 weeks when the SS sticky was removed. Why should I be punished for something that some random kid did? If people dont follow the rules, then ban those people and not everyone else.

Some people can't log into MapleStory every day, or even take pictures. Are you saying that we are not allowed to post in a thread? Thats just gay to allow only some to post, and not allowing others.

If TheLost did it, we can do it.

Why not just name it "Screenshot Observation Sticky"?

Honestly, Olaph, I respect you as a mod, but this rule you put in the SS sticky was kinda stupid. People post screenshots because they want to share them. Let's not forget that this is the internet, you can't exactly see people looking at their screenshot and watch their facial expression. So naturally you would want feedback if you posted a screenshot. Having the rule is just putting more of a hassle on people who want to reply and if that person is too lazy or is unable to post a screenshot with their reply, both the OP and the observer are not satisfied.

If this is to prevent spamming, one thing you could do is add an auto-filter to sites like Gaming Lagoon or whatever. And also add a retarded filter to pservers that makes the poster look stupid. If you haven't noticed, Olaph, the screenshot sticky is almost what kept this forum alive, albeit it had all this drama and spammage in it. I don't know how hard it is to be a mod, but this is me saying that no one ever supported the rule. Sure it kept the spam and drama down, but it also reduced the amount of posts and activity on the forum. Drastically.

"a moderator's decision" and "corruption" are not one in the same. You feel free to draw the line where you see it fit, but please, show me where in the rules that it is not allowed to post in a thread and not include a screen shot. Or even that it is against the rules to not post a screen shot in a thread Labeled as "screen shot thread".

If not, that means Olaph was enforcing a "fake rule", banning people, giving warnings, and locking a thread, all over his "fake rule". A party in this group of "moderators" was not performing to what he was originally intended to do, which is enforce the current rules, not his own.

See it how you may, but given the ability to ban people does not always make you right.

This that just happened was complete bullshit, he could have just banned the one that didn't follow the rules. Why the fuck should we pay for someone else's mistake? Its not like this even a job that everyone gets affected, its a goddam forum for god's sake and then some idiot decides not to read the rules making everyone else get hit by the same bullet? I say...Moderators "Kiss My Ass".

I must say i agree with everyone in saying that the rule was stupid i myself don't post here often but when i do 90% of the time its in the screen shot section and all i want is a little feedback but that rule completely ruined it. the was the screen shot section was before was perfectly fine it may have been a little cluttered but we all liked it the way it was.

I respect mods decisions in rules and all but.. this has already been said loads of times.. that rule in the latest screen thread was "bull shit" it ruined everything... that wasnt even all that much of a second chance... =.=

i know you guys never see me post in the maple section but wtf is this lol so if they decide to start there own screenshot thread it will get destroyed as well? thats no fair to the community....if they feel they want to post there pics up and have everyone comment to them and if they dont mind the spam once in a while since its normal then they should be entitled to make there own ss thread
