Here i am to add flame to the fire, i must add first, WOW i am suprised that everyone is so up in arms now, the first time i rember the thread being locked you were in your hidey holes of "this was our fault, we were bad peoples." while me and like 3 other people literaly FOUGHT to get it back, and when we do, the disrecptectfulness to a simple rule. Terrible. Also, seriously hippocrisy is everywhere here.(even me.)
Hey, know that rule it WAS our second chance, i rember saying the very same thing, olaph knew it wouldn't work well but he still did. and what did people do? our community stabbed him in the back, with people like jubin, that don't even freaking care about being banned.
This is completly right, banning people doesn't teach others or the people baned themselves anythig, Envious seemed unfazed by it, and ala wasn't even afrid just "posting an extra picture" brushing the words off like it was nothing, and ala usually follows rules decently.
well ann, i did make a thread when i got to 1k,was quite happy about it, got moved to general i got verbally abused and i didn't care anymore, i was just happy about getting t a benchmark
Honestly, your compeltly right if you iftedthe rule and even put in ben's filters(which would be albit diffucult) it would still end up being posts that had the
(asfdfasdf10charcters) after them. I hated the rule, thought it was crap. but its a rule ad you know what your doing.
really, the way i look at it, if we as a community cannot watch people(no one bothered torepremand anyone not following it, so obviously no one even freaking cared) what next, flame wars, spamming, stupid links? It just escelates, mass punishment is needed or no one will learn anything.

it gets annoying, that and people take bans so lightly, i should quote enviouses and alas posts its sad that they barely cared, AT ALL. I mean, you don't even care about bing banned. its just, not a threat anymore its not viable at all. just face it we need to show olaph we deserve it.



onrpg, is just not an active board(save general) it isn't supposed to be, the fact that our backbone was a thread full of spam is TERRIBLE, its so pityable its just sad. I cannot belive that we can't do much more then

now, i once again am usualy against mass punishment, but we blew our second chance as they say in baseball "three strikesyour out" cept its more like softball, with two, a third chance now is just prepostrous and so absurd i would just not belive why. i mustsay again, if this... what next.

I completely understand your points and where your coming from Olaph, but I do have a few questions..

1) What are the point of screen shots, if not to be discussed and commented on? I mean, its like art. Its there to be discussed. Is creating a new thread better than having a general screen shot thread where it would be atleast under some control? If everyone posted screen shots as regular threads, we would get 20 threads a day saying "Look at my Pro Items" or "Yay reached lvl 50!"

2) What do you consider spam? If your actual post cant make it past the 10 character limit? Not sure exactly.

3) Well obviously that rule of "SS or Ban" didnt work, so we need to find a compromise. Of course your busy and stuff, but what if you just simply deleted posts you felt where spam, or something in between letting it go to hell, and locking and banning everything.

It would also be nice to know that our mods are active on this site still. You may actually be checking it every minute, but we would never know. A post once in a while would be nice, so at least we know there are some restraints. Remember, when little kids arent being watched, they go crazy.

Edit Again -.-: I just saw your explenation to the above comment in the other thread.

EDIT: What if we put some sort of screenshot thread in the same place as guides and Buy/Sell. Then it would be out of the way and in its own category. A lot of other forums have an individual screen shot place. Idk if this forum can do this, but on another forum they have "spam" sections where you don't get +1 post count when you post in that particular section. Instead of it being a spam section, it would just be the screenshot section. RUles would still apply though, like unecessary posts being warned and stuff. Just an Idea.

1)well, you seem to be trying to turn the SS thread into a "prevent the boards being spammed" obviously you think without the boards will be spammed, as far as i can see, which means that that spam is going right into a +1 post count sticky instead.
2) well, most undder 10 char limits are like

asdlfasfj more chars so yea, they usually are spam, i mean there is always an exception but usually it is.
3) i don't know why people don't get this but the rule was our comprimise, without it we wouldn't even have it(as olaph locked it before when all of you were gone or something)
