This is a post that will definitely depend on your subjective interpretation, but suggestions/opinions certainly don't hurt.
Note that I don't mind paying for a game, even with a monthly fee. What I'm looking for: 1) Something that doesn't necessarily have to take up a lot of consecutive hours of my life... 2) Intuitive game-play... don't want to have to read manuals and wiki pages to figure out how to play. 3) True MMO. Some games don't actually allow you to see more than 8 players at a time, or something like that. Big world, in other words. 4) Non-anime. I just don't like the style. That pretty much rules out all the free Asian-made MMO's and some P2P ones. ![]() 5) Engrossing. This is the key here. The free Asian games are so unoriginal and formulaic that you always feel like you're playing yet another rip-off. On the other hand, good games have their own unique style and "connected" feel. Fun. 6) Because of #1, something that doesn't have a lot of levels or not a lot of grinding. Some examples of MMO's that I've played before and why I don't want to play them again: - WoW - only reason I don't want to play again is that I've already played it, got to 70 with good gear, got rid of my account. It basically has everything that I would want, but no longer has a novel appeal to me. I want to feel the "ooooh, this is cool" feeling that comes with a fresh MMO. - EVE - too slow-paced (though I'll admit it's a good game)... just don't feel like playing it again - EQ2 - not well-designed. I'll leave it there. - Voyage Century - huge lack of #2 and some #5 Another thing - I'm a fan of FPS's, so I've kinda been looking into WWII Online and Planetside. How well have those games aged? The graphics definitely look outdated, but if the gameplay is "engrossing," I might try them out. |

I think I'll try out Planetside, but I'll rule out the other games you posted... I've played AO (OK but gets repetitive), GW isn't what I'm looking for, and I can't say I like how Graal or PP look.
