I'm thinking about picking up this game.. but I was wondering if there was a good amount of people still playing and if it was even worth starting up as a new player at this point.

i started up about a month ago and i dotn regret it, im seeing more and more new players, so if you really want join the pack

The game is pretty complex, it takes a few days to get used to it, but after that, it's awesome.

I'm probably one of the few to say I've played this game since Beta, and I still do, this game has the best stories I've seen for any MMO, the best playstyle, and an auto translate function!

None the less the last update that was done, they made it where you can level with anybody practically now, so it'll be enjoyable to play with your friends and with people from all over the world.

Random battles? Jeez, no.

That would be irritating to a new degree.

Not really turn-based either. The speed you attack is dependent on the delay of your weapon.
