Employers want experience, but you don't get experience without being employed. It's a vicious circle ANYWHERE you go.
I mean, I know people in law who have quit a firm to join another, and even with more than two decades of experience it's still hard for them to find an opening.

Maybe you're just doing it all wrong...
Have you ever tried writing the application neatly with blue or black ink and for experience anything like yardwork for parents or mow the lawn for the neighbors also to write any reference but not your parents? You should also dress neatly while in the interview with no jewelry and answer the questions clearly. Thank the employers after then and a follow up call would be nice too. Thank you cards are recommended but don't bring anyone to the interview. |

How to Write a Resume gets over a million hits on google.com, so you may want to look into that.
The only way the employer really knows you, is by your application, so first, you need to learn to sell yourself in writing. There not going to care if you can speak a computer language, but the 3 languages you do know is a big perk, especially if it's customer service, two pluses if it's a language that is actually needed in places like the US: Spanish. Get to know who is going to do the application screening, or the management there. I'll tell you right now, Gamestop is the worst place to work, or tried to get hired from. Most management just toss the application into the trash (at least, that's what happened when I worked there as a Freshman) and there not going to hire a "kid" or someone who they suspect to sit there and play games all day. After you turn it in, give it 48 hours before you call. Ask to speak with management and inquire if your application has been reviewed. This will make you stick out a little more. If it hasn't happened yet, wait another 48-72 hours to call again. Aggressiveness is the only way your going to get a job in today's economy, since not only teens are looking for the summer job, but also people looking to take up a second job, plus anyone fired recently. |

well, yeah getting a job is a pain nowadays... but if you know someone/friends who works at the place u want to work for, getting a job there will be 100x easier, especially if u dont have any real work experience yet... sounds like cheating, but that's what happening...
btw check this site: craigslist.org... i got my current summer job there |

Finding a job is easier if you intern first. Just walk into a company with a resume and say that you're interested in an internship and they'll give you a job (some internships aren't paid but they'll pay you next summer).

Bingo.. I'm 22 and can't keep a job, so sometimes I have to apply for "lesser" or jobs for newer workers.. I'm not very smart or skilled and have OCD with some other problems I'm not going into.. Anyway just keep at it.. Do the follow up calls and make sure to look nice/ask questions and get your face known when you're filling out the application.
