I don't think it has been mentioned, but you need to dress for the job you intend to get. And when in doubt, over do it a bit.
For instance, there is no need to wear an Armani suit for an interview at gamestop. Khakis and a collar shirt would probably be best.. because chances are the guy interviewing you is a halfwit anyway and you don't wanna seem like an elitist prick. hehe Another thing, is to have different resumes for different jobs. For example, you may want a different cover letter for a gamestop job vs factory job vs desk job. Make the resume look like all you wanna do is sell games for them. Essentially the best way to get a job is to use 'white lies'. Make yourself look and sound exactly like what they are looking for the best you can. You need to watch out that you don't sound fake as hell though or they will see through the bullshit. Make sure going into the interview that you know as much about that company as you can. This way, you can have a confident discussion with the interviewer. Chances are if he like you, your resume won't mean shit at that point, and you will get hired. |

To thread starter: Yeah I know how ya feel. It was pretty hard for me to get a job too. I did end up finding a job though - as a game master for a certain company. However, I don't really like working there too much because they put a lot of stress on me ; but I gotta deal with it since I need the money and all. Also, it sucks that I only get thursday and friday off instead of weekends, so... - sighs -
Anyway, I'm in the process of applying at another company ( also as a gm ) that pays $15 dollars for 30 hours per week... so I really hope I get that job.

Well, since I can't even apply for a job yet, I have a plan for you. Only if you have spare time, join volunteer work. Local fire departments have ages of 14+ as volunteer firemen. Im thinking that if you put down you have experience as a WORKER, your chances go up.

Ok let me make it clear.
If I get accepted, I will get $15.00 per hour, and work for 30 hours a week lol. Sorry for the confusion.
