For myself, I try to keep my buffs all levelled up to roughly the same level, ignoring only QuickStep (reached level 10 a few days ago), Stonehand and Prevention --- these are basically levelled as I use them, at least for now.

I started by putting everything to lvl 10; my current goal is lvl 12 (I don't like the odd levels for obvious reasons), which only Accuracy hasn't reached yet. Once Accuracy is at 12 I'll start putting stuff up to 14 and so on...

I've already moved ahead with Heap Up, as I think it's the most important buff, and it's useful for everyone. It's currently at 14 and my "AFK skill", so I'm not currently levelling it while I'm at the keyboard.

Other than that, I try to keep some balance between defensive buffs (good for everyone) and fighter-only buffs, toggling between the two groups and throwing in Mental Sign when I feel like it. For the fighter-buffs, I do Beef Up first, then Haste. Cannonball is classified as defensive for me, but since it's also an offensive buff I like to level it early.

Darkblade, Mercs actually do have some skills to AFK. If you have sneaker already then don't worry about increasing pan barrier and protection anymore than needed (they require a sheild to use, and Merc 2nd classes dont use shields.) Also, there's impower weapon which becomes useful later if you become a blade. And Axe/Sword Mastery, and Blazing Sword/Smite Axe are also important to have (level the one that corresponds to the weapon you will most likely use for the rest of the game).

Well - are you full support? or... BP?
Well it doesn't really matter since it seems like you're going to be healer/buffer. I would say most people you level will obviously care about buffs.
But most importantly its your ability to keep them alive. When you level up heal it will heal more and the time it takes you to cast heal will be reduced greatly (and I mean by a lot). So even if you can give the person a lot of HP from Heap Up, is your heal level high enough to continuously keep up with that HP. Because if mobbers think "Oh I have a lot of HP, lets mob some more". Then you might be in trouble.

Yea, Elki is right, as an AoEer, I try to look for someone with a higher heal, rather than buffs. Although buffs are important, if someone can heal me so that I don't have to use food, then I'm fine. But if there's one thing that annoys me, is finding an assist that is going BP who only has a lvl 5 heal and buffs below lvl 4, especially when i shout for an fs assist.

Best assist combo: Heal lvl 15+ with full Wedge/Flury, super fast casting with a great heal. I can tank 10+ monsters with that.

Hahah... there are many support assist going to be BP with high level heal.. but the only problem with that is the lack of INT for higher heal... so yeah. I still think BPs are overrated due to the level 75 skill and 80 skill...

What item that makes you cast spells fast for an Assist? And is it true that the skill patience will increase HP depending on your INT?

No. Patience is a fixed amount of HP added. Its like 2xx HP at level 20.
