See if they put up their downloads to other people and the people upload it to youtube or whatever it puts them in risk of getting sue'd by the people licensing the anime.

Well yeah, but it's unlikely that they would get sue'd for fansubbing but that wasn't really the problem...
They would though try to cut off the their anime on streaming sites and if it gets to be too much of a problem they'd have to shut down the source which is DB.

There's a chance they ARE serious. It could be that they REALLY WANT Naruto episodes, atleast one that they sub, taken off of Youtube, and this is just a bluff to get people to listen to them. I think their reason is pretty legitimate. The other reason they give though makes them seem a little stuck up, the one about the quality of their work. And personally, with their attitude, I wouldn't be surprised if they DID drop Naruto.

XD a subbing group named after the anime they began subbing are going to stop? XP thats like Nintendo never making any more Mario games almost, just sounds weird

I don't think they were joking. I mean, they were BLUFFING. You can tell because the new Naruto was released BUT at the beginning there's an anti-posting on Youtube thing. I think after all those years of fake subs and trolls and what not are really playing against them now. Its like the boy who cried wolf.

And they're not against Youtube, they just don't want people putting up Dattebayo subbed anime on Youtube.

heh seems they still released it even though they say they quit on naruto shippuuden-.- kinda weird. (also still no update on the message they were joking as usual)

anyway what i wanted to know is naruto currently doing fillers or is this the main story from the manga? im not very satisfied with how it is now. boring characters. everyone suddenly seems weaker then they are. and the hokage aint doing shit while she could probably instant pwn those guys invading konoha atm :P so i hope this are fillers.
