Well you do realize it's not gas but the price of Oil =). As well the price of most metals have gone up, gold, silver, copper, aluminum. Most things are going up in price which can be a result in Oil but also started prior to this oil problem. As the price of oil goes up the demand will go down, it is economics in a nutshell and has already shown to be true with the US usage of Gas down 4% from last year. As well in the short term we tend to find other means of transportation (buses and carpooling) and in the long run we will move closer to work, find more fuel efficient vehicles and different products that can get us around.

If someone suffers to the point where getting to work cost more then they make. Why would they continue to work? Wouldn't it be easy to live in the woods or something?


But the cost of transporting food in giant trucks won't go down. A truck still has to use all that gas.

BUT, based on your theory of economics. The food companies will have to pay less to get around because GAS will cost less.


So, we should all use public transportation and only let food companies use gas..

Most people without a HS diploma live within walking distance of their job or a job of equivalent salary... Now if you make less than $400 a month, then you might want to ask for more hours, considering that's only $4800 a year... Also, those that make less than $5000 a year can probably find a job within walking distance of their house of equivalent pay.

Again, i'm not with gas prices... But I don't believe it will get so over out of hand that people will result to breaking off from society...

P.S. My sister, 17, a host at a restraunt gets about 40 hours a week and makes approx min wage with tips included. She'd make approx 13,000 a year and she's within walking distance.

Hmm there was nothing saying that if we all use less gas then the price of gas will go down. Because what happens is gas costs to much we will use less of it, demand will go down. However if they lower price of oil (which results in lower price of gas) than people will use it more. At the same time a different shift on the dependence of oil is taking shape. Companies are going to always need gasoline in some way to transport their items, but the concept of a Hybrid Truck (a transporting one) is in the works. As our global demands of Oil goes down so will the price. But since we have moved away from Oil the lowering of price won't do much to change. Besides no where did I say that food companies will pay less when gas goes down... that just doesn't make since.
Will lower class workers die? You do realize another large reason why food prices when up was because of the corn being turned to ethanol, which was an attempt to make another type of gas, most likely this will stop sooner than later and food prices will lower again. So it isn't simply Oil prices which are effected food prices. (Yes it is the only result if we keep going back and back meaning if you try and say well Ethanol is only being made because of Gasoline, which is made from oil and blah blah blah).
As well the US government is helping the poor "stupid" people by giving them checks to help, as of right now they are working on getting another 400-700 dollars to the US people, which I find pointless. I think those who have shit end jobs deserve to suffer for not actually trying in life. Than again if they did try in life and failed then they should get the money, but most aren't in that situation.
