Dude.

Reggaeton is not the genre for the ones I listed.

It's REGGAE.

Reggaeton is the Hispanic rip-off of REGGAE.

You just countered your own argument. It's still hip hop, it doesn't matter what personal reasons you consider it to not to be, you cannot, and have not, provided any reason why it isn't. End of argument.

Yeah, see, I saw Public Enemy when you were barely out of the womb, know your place and never suggest you know something I do not, it would never bode well for you.

This is what bothers me about your kind. You're young, you still think you know everything, you've been into hip hop for two years. Who the hell are you to tell ME what it is and isn't?

Evidently not, since you have a completely wrong view of what is and isn't hip hop, and your view of the "olden days" is completely wrong. I grew up with the shit you're talking about, my cousin even before me was into it during the late 80s.

While i listen to and like a lot of the new mainstream stuff, theres still elements of it that i don't consider true hip-hop, while, according to your argument, it is.
How fucking dare you question MY knowledge when you sit there, a two year deep "fan", and tell me that LL started hip hop? His debut came out in 1985, Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five were making hip hop at least half a decade before that, so were The Sugarhill Gang.

Run D.M.C. came out a year before LL Cool J did. Public Enemy formed in 1982. LL Cool J didn't even start rapping properly until '85.

You have successfully just proven you know absolutely nothing about hip hop. Most shockingly though, what the hell do you mean it EVENTUALLY got around with DJ Kool Herc? Herc has been going since the goddamn '70s. LL Cool J didn't bring him into it.

I actually thought, at first, "Ok, he probably knows a bit, he's just over confident.", but you actually don't know the first thing about hip hop, like...at all. LL Cool J had nothing to do with the birth of hip hop.

And by Mcing, i'm talking about the ability to rhyme and flow. If we want to go into examples, i do believe that lil wayne is a part of hip-hop. He has good delivery, and is unconventional in his speech pattern. That was why eminem was so popular. He has amazing flow in his lyrics and good delivery of his speech. Comparing him to someone like lil john? I don't know if you've tried to rap before but lil john has the easiest verses that i've seen. Theres no sense of flow at all. its just pure crunk music. and when its like that, theres no Mcing happening, and therefore its not a part of hiphop. its an entire genre by itself called "crunk".
Rapping IS MCing, that is what you posers don't understand. MCing is not any different to rapping, it's the same thing. What has happened, though, is people like you, who wrongly separate things, have taken MCing to mean underground hip hop rhyming, and it doesn't mean that. If you're an MC, you're a rapper, it has always been that way.

"Crunk" is hip hop too, you're not proving that it isn't. Why are you telling me about "crunk" as if I've never heard of it? No offense son, but remember you're dealing with someone who has been actively involved with and listening to hip hop for most of your natural life. Do not presume you can educate me on it. Especially since you just told me LL Cool J started hip hop. You know nothing of the culture you swear to love.

I just have an issue with you calling shit like soulja boy hiphop. its an insult. Basically, im calling them posers. and your lumping them in all together. While you ARE technically right, I still don't like it.
So? Who gives a shit what you like or don't like? I'm right, there. You know it, I know it. I never said it had to be liked.

1) I never said all rock is the same, I was actually making the entirely opposite point, but well done for completely fucking up the intepretation. My point was that although rock music has lots of different sounding bands, they're still all rock bands. Same with hip hop; loads of different sounding people, but it's still hip hop.

2) I'd HOPE nobody would get offended if you did that, but you're still wrong. Death metal is metal, so therefore there'd be absolutely no reason to call it "indie rock".

Crunk AND hip hop? No, crunk is hip hop, it's just a different kind.

Lyrics do not count when specifying a genre, music does. Hip hop music all contains multiple connecting threads.

There's not "funk hip hop", it's just hip hop. Just because hip hop has a bit of funk in it, does not warrant a new genre. It's all hip hop.

Technical enough? No, cos lyrics have nothing to do with the technical aspects of how the music is made. Lyrics do not make something NOT hip hop. Lil Jon is still a hip hop MC, doesn't matter how different his lyrics are. N.W.A. had different lyrics to a lot of other hip hop artists, they're still hip hop.

"Classic" rock isn't a good label, it's just rock. "Classic" wasn't used when it came out, so I'm not gonna use it now. Lots of music is classic, not just that part of rock. It's just rock music.

Metal has many different sounding bands, so does rock, so does hip hop. It's ALL still metal, it's ALL still rock and it's all still hip hop.

Fact.
