Run D.M.C. came out a year before LL Cool J did. Public Enemy formed in 1982. LL Cool J didn't even start rapping properly until '85.

You have successfully just proven you know absolutely nothing about hip hop. Most shockingly though, what the hell do you mean it EVENTUALLY got around with DJ Kool Herc? Herc has been going since the goddamn '70s. LL Cool J didn't bring him into it.

Rapping IS MCing, that is what you posers don't understand. MCing is not any different to rapping, it's the same thing. What has happened, though, is people like you, who wrongly separate things, have taken MCing to mean underground hip hop rhyming, and it doesn't mean that. If you're an MC, you're a rapper, it has always been that way.

"Crunk" is hip hop too, you're not proving that it isn't. Why are you telling me about "crunk" as if I've never heard of it? No offense son, but remember you're dealing with someone who has been actively involved with and listening to hip hop for most of your natural life. Do not presume you can educate me on it. Especially since you just told me LL Cool J started hip hop. You know nothing of the culture you swear to love.

1) I never said all rock is the same, I was actually making the entirely opposite point, but well done for completely fucking up the intepretation. My point was that although rock music has lots of different sounding bands, they're still all rock bands. Same with hip hop; loads of different sounding people, but it's still hip hop.

2) I'd HOPE nobody would get offended if you did that, but you're still wrong. Death metal is metal, so therefore there'd be absolutely no reason to call it "indie rock".

Lyrics do not count when specifying a genre, music does. Hip hop music all contains multiple connecting threads.

There's not "funk hip hop", it's just hip hop. Just because hip hop has a bit of funk in it, does not warrant a new genre. It's all hip hop.

Technical enough? No, cos lyrics have nothing to do with the technical aspects of how the music is made. Lyrics do not make something NOT hip hop. Lil Jon is still a hip hop MC, doesn't matter how different his lyrics are. N.W.A. had different lyrics to a lot of other hip hop artists, they're still hip hop.

"Classic" rock isn't a good label, it's just rock. "Classic" wasn't used when it came out, so I'm not gonna use it now. Lots of music is classic, not just that part of rock. It's just rock music.

Metal has many different sounding bands, so does rock, so does hip hop. It's ALL still metal, it's ALL still rock and it's all still hip hop.
