Discrimination Against Disabled MMORPG Players?

Ever since Blizzard issued the lawsuit against WoW Glider a lot of people have protested that Blizzard are being inconsiderate towards disabled players. If you're not familiar with it, WoW Glider is a bot that allows you to automate play in World o Warcraft.

It's an interesting issue that's discussed in full here.

Do you think Blizzard are being too gung-ho going after gold farmers?

bots destroy communities, levelling and economies

sure everything is great when the items cost 1g instead of 100g but youll see the prices to skyrocket to 1000g+ when the majority of the bots is gone

No. Its thier game and they have every right to do whatever they want to do with it.

Plus, the disabled have much more to worry about than playing an MMORPG, and majority of the bot users aren't disabled anyway.

Any bot that automates gameplay is wrong. No one, disabled or otherwise should be allowed to use one.

Besides, what is the point of playing if the bot plays for you?

Even if I was disabled I would actually want to play the game and not just sit there watching my bot play.

There are many interface addons and features and such that accommodate players (and the disabled).... and are approved (or created) by blizzard.

Features like on screen keyboard, completely playable via mouse only etc, should allow the majority of people to play this game and enjoy it.

So uhh yea.... bots are suck.

If its actual bot program then you dont need to be there.

I got no slightest idea what it is.
But if it just makes stuff like pressing button 1 it starts sequence of 8 skills.
Yeah why not.
But then, think it this way... You just bought right to play their game and they dont like the way you are playing.

Gold farmers are those retards who mess up the economy by bricing items WAY to high on the auction house and buying out all thats left so you're pretty much forced to pay for that expensive as shit item

That's a macro which I think is allowed in the game, never done more than switching to a weapon that using a skill with one so xD

wow has already macros ingame, just press escape and look for the macros button

And besides.... WoW is easymode anyway. You can easily play with one hand and wtfpwn both PvM and PvP.

I know you can, because WoW was so easy I routinely had a coffee in one hand and played WoW with the other. (before I quite cuz I got bored)

It's one of the easiest mmo's around hehe.

PS - if you don't know what glide is, it is a completely automated bot. as in, you can let it run 24/7 and it will level for you. There used to even be a website running a glide-bot-cam showing one characters(bot) progress. Pretty damn sad really.
