Hi I'm getting this from tigerdirect,
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...7466&CatId=333 what is the most powerful vid card I could get that would work for this computer and get the full potential out of it? which one would you get with it? Thanks! (Please give link to the vid card, and must be off of tigerdirect) |

to save money I always buy a vid card that is around 100-200 and then upgrade in a couple of years when the high end cards that were going for 600+ are now 100-200......
anything from Nvidia 8800 GT and up can play all games on max out now.... pretty good setup too.... if people didn't want to go through building a computer they might as well buy this one and add a good graphics card.... although I would buy a new cool looking case with better cooling.... also the website says it doesn't give you a heat sink fan so you need to by one too..... |

well i was planning on getting an 8600 gt or something but for about the same price i can get this
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...354&CatId=3585 this one seems like it would be better and would 600 watts be good or should i get 700+? o and also will my processor run this vid card to its full potential and/or work? EDIT: @BanMido: yeah gfx cards are kinda cheap now which is a good thing. yeah i kno i need a fan too but will a cheap one do or will i need an expensive one? this is an ok heatsink it small so it can fit in your case....unless you are going to do some serious overclocking to you're cpu this fan is good enough. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...7261&CatId=798 I suggest this card http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...454&CatId=3670 or any 8800 gt since you don't need a more expensive card yet this one can play anything on max.... |

thx everyone so far for the help and thx for fan recommendation had no clue which one would get the job done. |

this link compares benchmarks between a 8800gt and a 9600gt
8800 gt won out in this one http://hothardware.com/cs/forums/t/37821.aspx another link http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/24...-8800gt-9600gt these people say 8800 gt is better to read into more if you want but I would go for the 8800gt |

Don't worry, i'm running a 8800GT with a NOX 500W PSU and it cost me like 35€.
No issues so far. Oh yes, the 9600GT is kind of a gap filler between 8800GS and GT. It's kind of a scam on my opinion. I saw this factory OC'ed Gigabyte 8800GT with a Zalman cooler before and it was cheap, I wish they had it in stock when I bought my computer. It had clocks at 700 and the RAM at 1900. That's a pretty nice deal.

but remember wattage is not the really important part....amps is.....
mine has two 12v rails that each has 20A and it is 650W so far no problem......got mine a while back on BFG tech for 234 USD with bfg 8800 gt oc and the 650W PSU |
