The fault in your arguments are that you're placing the loss of technology in the form of it being pulled like a rug from under us. Of course there's gonna be devastating effects to LOSING IT after we've had it. Though people would still survive, people would still dream, people could still be happy, people could still make the best of their life; That's what's important. And face the music, you're gonna die one way or another and that being said, people STILL die of horrible diseases, people still get cancer, etc etc. And even if you get rid of that, what then? Then you have overpopulation which would only breed something more immediately devastating, a lack of energy to go around.
I don't know about you, I live in this time, I don't think it'd make a difference if I lived in the past. That'd be all I knew. I'm not being ungrateful for technology, I'm just telling you not to tell me to bow down to what is healthy and just as equally deadly. A lack of science isn't a lack of living. A lack of science is a lack of luxury. Science is NOT the end all be all.

Well if you're proposing that living in the past without technology would be fine if you hadn't known it anyway, then yes, we've all been there.

I think both are a bit far fetched. Coming from dirt seems outlandish there's not enough in dirt to account for the Bibles explanation of how man came to be. But then I don't think you are supposed to take the Bible literally anyway. Also coming from some fish that crawled out of some oozing muck sounds like a Sci-Fi nightmare to me. I don't know how we got here nor do I really care. I'm just glad to be here.

But seriously with the large majority of humans still prone to old religious ideals such as creationalism or intelligent design its hard for humanity to move up a ladder with people blocking the door and flinging the bible in your face. |

There have been experiments showing that it is possible for amino acids and such to be formed from "non-organic" matter if the right conditions are met.

You're right. Those type of people should back down. Science doesn't disprove religion. In my opinion, it strengthens it. We were created to learn and build! Why would I want to stop that? Science has given us everything we could have ever wanted. People who shove religion up your face are wrong. The same is said for those who try to trash it though. Keep that in mind the next time you go on a biblical trash session how you don't like it when religious zealots shove crap down your throat.

To you maybe, to me it's equally as silly to think something just one day appeared out of nowhere. It makes no sense. Even with science it says that energy cannot either be destroyed nor created just recycled so to speak. So how is it one day that the universe just came out of nowhere?
