**** ebay. Seriously.
I'm sitting here...THE only bidder on an item, and it keeps upping my bid each time. Like, literally, I click it to bid on the mother ****er, (lets say 12.50) and it says "LOL YOU'VE BEEN OUTBID!" to like 13.00 or something. I know nobody is sitting there bidding on the auction, because the number of bids only increases by one. So someone, please explain to me wtf is going on here

Happened to me once too. I think people are using eBay bots or whatever to up the bid until it gets to their desired price. I mean, I don't even know if there is such thing, but it gets so damn annoying.
EDIT: I just saw Oisterboy's rep. ZOMG!1!!!@ |

Strange though, because if it said "4 bids" when I bid, afterwords it only says "5 bids", but it says "YOU HAVE BEEN OUTBID!" like I wasn't the last bidder. So confused. |

What happens is that when that person bid they said they put in an amount they would be willing to go up to. The person who bid on the item before you may have bid 25 dollars meaning that until you bid higher than that you will be getting outbid every single time.
It makes sense. |

My aunt thought that ebay was trying to rip her off lol! took me forever to explain it to her. It's so that you don't have to sit in a chair all day if you want to win an item and already know the maximum you'll spend. |
