Oh yah, Torque X has a Platformer Starter Kit. It seems like it should work.

Spodi, the guy behind VBGore was only doing Ninja Engine as a side project which he was meant to be paid for but then stopped. I would strongly recommend NOT using it unless you arrange a deal with him to finish it or you have the skills needed to do so. Your money would be better of using the Torque engine since even if you fail you will be using/learning an industry standard language and set of tools ^_^

please offer your services if you can design spirtes, backgrounds, animations, graphics, etc
