Lightbulb Calvin And Hobbes MMO Needs Talent!!

Project name:
Calvin And Hobbes 2d, Sidescroller Mmo

Brief description:

This project will be a Sidescroller Mmo (See:Maplestory) based on the many books of Calvin And Hobbes Comics. There is no lac of content in the comics of Calvin and hobbes, so you don't have to worry about that. It will have a small community of frequent players and some unique game attributes unique to the calvin and hobbes world. You will not play as calvin, but rather play s another kid in the neighbourhood. I go more in depth in the "additional info" section.

Target aim:
This will be a freeware game. I am currently requesting rights to create and game and such from Calvin and hobbes author Bill Watterson.

Compensation:
At this point, I cannot offer any compensation, besides the joys of creating a killer game.

Technology:

Target system is windows, and you will not need a godly computer for this game, so we will be keeping the sprites simple, but awesome. I have many programs used for creating sprites and graphics, as well as music production, and know how to host a server. I will need some assistance on the programming side.

Talent needed:
Programmers
Graphic Designers, as in Sprites or Pixels and concept
Running the Game
Website Graphic Designer
Forum Mods, no game mods needed.
Editors
Testers
Game Server host
animators

Team structure:
I currently only have me and a guy named Nick, and Daniel. We are all testers, and moderators.

Me/Blake: Music production, Concepts, Storyline/plot (quests)
Nick: Concept art, Ideas, background design, Gui concept
Daniel:Storyline/plot, tester, forum moderator.

Join The List!

Website:
Calvin And Hobbes Mmo

Contacts:
blake414@hotmail.com is my main contact.
I am currently making a forum and website

Additional Info:
This game will be much like walking through the world as a kid in the calvin and hobbes series. I have many ideas for classes, monsters, quests, calvinball, vehicles, and npcs.I might make it so you can create a tiger or a kid, but i am not sure, depends on what is chosen. I have a ton of ideas for maps, and such as well. If you would like to see moe in depth about what the game concept is like, please view the website.

Feedback:
ENCOURAGING ONLY, ideas are accepted.

Thanks For Support. Please get back to me as soon as possible.

Interesting Concept, never seen this idea before. Usually its a Naruto MMO. When this game finishes, make shure to tell all of us. I want to play. I have one question though, what engine do you plan on using?

This could work mainly because of the classes that you can pick. I wish you luck in this.

Yeah, i was wondering what engine to use, I am not sure which to choose. I Cannot find a good 2d engine thats simplisctic but complex enough to make it good.

If you guys have any suggestions, to a free engine, i would be more than grateful. And if you could find any help to help me with the game, ( mainy programmers) i would be mroe than happy.

Here's the link: http://www.vbgore.com/Ninja_Story_engine
However, where does it say it costs? VBgore is free and the Ninja Story Engine can be downloaded at the bottom of the wikipage.

When it comes to the world of online if you truly are willing to make it you are better off looking for a paid solution I don't think there is anything out there for free that would performance wise out do a paid solution.
Not to mention you will eventually be paying for a website, server and so forth so payment will come into it at some point and you may as well save yourself the hassle of poor networking and such which a free engine may have as opposed to a team who is paid to work on such an engine.

That said I would strongly recommend Torques 2D Engine (can't remember the exact name) it will save you a lot of time and is not too complex as there are plenty of tutorials.

Or if you really must go the free path, well good luck!
