Slipped in for a few moments yesterday, but I'll probably stick with MWO.
DISLIKES: * The Cash Shop seems quite unbalanced. You have to pay if you want basic bot options like picking up items/gold, armors/costumes you buy only last for 7 days, an NPC gives you gold for RL-$$$ etc. * Classes being tied to genders is a horrible idea. For example there are no female warriors at all. * Character customization is non-existent. I hope later on there will be hair style NPCs (like in MWO). My Gunman has red hair... uncool. * Characters and especially the movement animations look kinda stiff. Gonna test it a little more once servers go up again, though. I like the MWO-like, bot-based gameplay, the isometric graphics, and the kinda cool Scifi-meets-fantasy scenario. But especially the limited bot options for f2p players really annoy me... |

* The Cash Shop seems quite unbalanced.
You have to pay if you want basic bot options like picking up items/gold, armors/costumes you buy only last for 7 days, an NPC gives you gold for RL-$$$ etc. ==Bot is a delema. If you want to use bot, you need to pay for your laziness. lol. You can not afk for over 3 min. We are adjusting it since it's still in alpha. You need to pay much if you want a loot function. Because most of people will pick up goods when manually fighting. If you leave your char botting there, and you also want to pick up good items, you have to pay a lot for this. Otherwise it will ruin the game.== * Classes being tied to genders is a horrible idea. For example there are no female warriors at all. ==Yes and No. Because there is no "Gender" concept in Chaos Online in our develpment plan. Today you can be a male, tomorow you can be a female by wearing different clothes. Later marriage is not gender based.== * Character customization is non-existent. I hope later on there will be hair style NPCs (like in MWO). My Gunman has red hair... uncool. You are wrong. People will look differently by wearing different items. And we are planing to sell those clothes in shopping mall for gold, not for real money. * Characters and especially the movement animations look kinda stiff. I think better than most of other 2D games, haha. |

I probably misunderstood the concept behind the game. When I saw an isometric MMO with ingame bot, I thought it would be _very_ similar to Magic World Online (mwo.enjoymmo.com), since it's also run by the same company.
I did (and still do) love MWO, especially its bot-concept which allows me to be fully involved into an MMO while still having a real life. So I was quite disappointed to see that in CO, the bot can only be used by "rich" people, opposed to MWO where everyone can use it without limits. Especially since I noticed that the UI makes manually controlling your char and fighting monsters quite tedious. Also I read that the exp-curve later is getting steeper because of the built in bot; if it is anywhere as steep as in MWO (level 50 to 51 taking up to 2 weeks of 24/7 botting), playing without 24/7 bot will be next to impossible, basically forcing people to spend a lot of RL-Cash on that feature. (Yes, I know, MMOs are a business as well, and you somehow have to earn your revenues. Doesn't mean that players are willing to support such greediness, though.) Having no genders at all in your concept -- while being able to change gender with the equipment you wear -- is also something I don't really approve, since I usually don't pick unisex names. Hairstyle and even gender being tied to costumes (which vanish after 7 days) is a huge turn-off to me. I don't wanna critizise too much. Aside from the stiff character animations, I really like the detailed graphics. The whole setting with a SciFi and a fantasy world is refreshing and original. Many core features of the game look very promising. But it's some of the above mentioned basics that already turn me off quite a bit. |
