Your lungs being a part of your body require blood. The more you fill up and release oxygen/co2, the more you work your lungs. Therefore requiring more blood. When done correctly at a decent amount of time, obvioulsy your heart rate won't be at rest rate... Even if you are in tip top shape as what will happen with any amount of work you put your body through. There are more muscles in your body than those you physically move suprisingly...
