I hate putting on DOTs. So would a mage be better in terms of burst damage?

heres a way to find out:

Actually play the game and its classes, instead of instantly jumping to 70 on a private server

That way we don't see a "omg how do I play a mage" thread in a day or two

Best way to learn a class is to experience it. Mages will and always have been able to pull out a higher amount of burst damage in most situations. There are some involving Seed of Corruption that enable a Warlock to pull off high amounts of burst. Honestly, the amount of burst/DPS that one can pull off is dictated by the skill of the player. A bad Mage will never beat a good Warlock.
