I didn't feel like going off topic, so I'll post it here. When it comes to which is better, OO or MSO, it all comes down to opinion. As a word alternative, I think OO does a great job, but when I tried to to make slideshows and spreadsheets for school and work it failed miserably. It just doesn't have all the same features that MSO has, but that's to be expected since it's free. I also hate all the crapware that comes with it.
