From D.C.: I'd recommend The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller, The Killing Joke by Alan Moore (The DEFINITIVE Joker story), The Long Halloween by Jeph Loeb and Kingdom Come by Mark Waid, The Death of Superman by multiple writers, including Dan Jurgens, Green Lantern: Rebirth, Green Lantern: The Sinestro Corps War, Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn and Superman: Red Son by Mark Millar.
Outside of this; Sin City's books by Frank Miller, Watchmen/V for Vendetta/The League of Extraordinary Gentleman (Two volumes with a third upcoming) and From Hell by Alan Moore. Ghost World by Daniel Clowes, also.
Well, after consideration I'd have to recommend The Punisher: Max. It's a sort of R-rated, out of continuity series that's currently available in collected volumes (Trade Paperbacks/hardbacks). Start from #1 and continue if you wish. It's written by Garth Ennis.
Aside from that, I'd recommend the Planet Hulk and World War Hulk trade paperbacks (I have the single issues, but for non-regular collectors these are the easiest). Planet Hulk then World War Hulk, chronologically. Both, I believe, by Greg Pak. Get Magneto: Testament, a riveting holocaust origin story, also by Greg Pak. The same goes for Thor. Get Vol. 1 written by J. Michael Straczynski. Spider-Man: Maximum Carnage by multiple authors including Sal Buscema. Secret Wars by Jim Shooter is definitely worth getting. Daredevil: Born Again by Frank Miller, amazing.
Hmm. I'd recommend the Dark Reign saga that's currently happening, but I think we'll wait until whether or not you decide comics are for you.
Thanks. Name sounds like of familiar. Never really saw very much Japanese furry art myself. Except for Dr. Comet(Is he even Japanese?). You can draw? How good are you?
In all seriousness, I can recommend you stuff to get into I guess. It just takes effort, continual effort. I can't be wasting time on people who say they wanna get into them but aren't willing to go get them (Whatever that means) and keep up with the stories.
That's...Bullseye, posing as Hawkeye...who WAS an Avenger, but is now a New Avenger known as Ronin (Read up on Dark Reign if you're interested).
Is Bullseye worth looking into? He's pretty sick, yeah. Not a whole bunch of dedicated material though, just a few storylines here and there. Mostly in Daredevil (Where he has been integral at times).
