Nash hoped in his charger and peeled out of the World Force Building in down town LA. He had just had a meeting with the director of World Force: LA about his new team. Nash had gotten the job offer at least 2 months ago, and he had been accepted. He had to wait for all the loose ends to be dealt with. Now the building has been renovated and is ready and waiting.
. . . “Your team is a large one, Son. Handle it well.” The director had said. “It has a great affect on what you do, you are in LA of all places, we might even be sending you more agents. Be ready.” Oh great . . . Nash had thought . . .
Nash pulled up to his new home, and work place. He parked on the side of the road and got out ready to check out the building and get it ready for the other agents to arrive. When he got in the door, the Internal Affairs Agents of WF were already inside setting everything up. He grabbed one of the young ones by the arm “What’s this place got son?” he asked. “Well, let me show you around.” The boy could tell by the blue bracelet on Nash’s arm, and that he was first here, that he was the head of the team. “Good on ya boy.” Nash said in reply and let the boy show him the floor map.
HQ was 4 stories high and a basement underneath. Main floor was like a normal office, with exceptions. It had blacked out, bullet proof, and spirit proof windows. It housed the interrogation rooms, holding, weapons vault, and a waiting area with shallow wrap around stairs, along with the bracelet only activated elevator. On the second floor was the main conference room, a big open space with about 10 seats on couches and chairs. It also had the tech office, filled with equipment and the head of the team’s office. Third floor is where the house part starts. It is filled by the fully stocked kitchen, living room, and another living space. The forth floor has 10 large bedrooms each with their own bathroom, and an open hallway plan. The basement is last and it is a complete gym with a pool.
Nash was impressed with the building. “Thank you” he said and the boy went back to work. HQ was fully open and the lock on the door and elevator were on for the bracelets. He went out to his car and drove it around the back to the fully enclosed parking lot. He grabbed his bags and went through back door and got in the elevator heading to first floor. He threw his bags in the middle room, which was also a straight shot for the elevator and not far from the hiding stairs that went to every floor. As head of the team he should be first in danger and out of the door. Turns out it was the right room, it was a gray painted with a queen bed and all the bedding. It looked kind of like a hotel, but then he remembered he opted for an already made room. He got back in the elevator and stopped to make coffee in the kitchen. Then he went down to the conference floor and into his office. He posted in the elevator for all agents to meet there after moving into their room. He waited for them to arrive in his office messing with his computer and his office so it was set up right.
She's somewhere soft and warm, surrounded by darkness. Only now there's light, blinding her the instant she opens her eyes. She remembers where she is now, a little motel not far from the HQ where she decided to stay the night before. Ruby shoves the questionably clean blankets away from her. She checks the clock on the opposite wall before getting dressed in a simple black T-shirt and blue jeans. Luckily her bags are still packed and waiting in her rental car. She quickly signs out with the motel manager and starts her journey to the building she will be staying in for quite a while.
Somehow Ruby expected it to be smaller, and more like the police station on her world. She walks determinedly into the building, immediately checking out all it has to offer. Quite a few humans asked if she needed help finding anything, somehow reminding Ruby of being in a store. After checking out most the building she gets directions to the room she'll be staying in. Once there she sets her bags aside and smiles. Its a simple room, only a queen bed pushed against the far wall and her large mahogany desks set against the opposite wall. She proceeds to set up her laptop on one desk, and sets her art bag on the other. Her any clothes disappear into the depths of her closet . Later she would begin painting a mural on the wall, making it more like home, but until then she hung up various pictures. Even ones of Jonathan and herself.
After that she returned to searching the building, using her Black bracelet to access the elevators. A sign posted about meeting on the conference floor, in the head honcho's office catches her eye, so Ruby decides to head there immediately. Once there she briskly knocks on the door, ignoring human customs and stepping in.
Naida grins impishly as she uses her Pink bracelet to access the building of her dreams. The first thing she does is find two workers to help her get all her bags to her room, its mostly made up, but she puts some finishing touches on it. She hangs blue and green silk drape over the walls and a crossed the ceiling. Many plants and flowers placed on shelves and in strategic points in the room. She quickly assembles her mini waterfall in one corner, filling it with water and placing stones around it. She shoves the specifically requested twin bed to the far wall, setting up a large blue mat in the center of the room. A meditation pace surrounded by candles. Naida smiles at her hard work.
Then she sets about touring the place. Its amazing, more so than she first imagined. Her first thoughts when entering the tech room are a jumbled mess of enthusiasm. She begins checking it all out, grinning from ear to ear. They even had hacking technology For her, and a varying amount of fairy made technology. She couldn't have dreamed of a better set up.
"This is so sick!" She rushes to the human who led her to the tech room, hugging him to his utter embarrassment. She just can't help the overwhelming tide of bubbly emotions inside of her. Luckily for the human boy it subsides quickly and she's onto the next round of curiosity. He quickly leaves her at the elevators, seeming grateful that she doesn't hug him again. She takes note of the sign telling her to go to the conference room and happily obliges. She calms herself a little, though there's still a skip in her step as she heads for the large meeting room.
Nye felt at peace the second he stepped into the building. Before he thought he would still get that itchy feeling when being confined to such a place, but this was nothing like the station back on his world. He partially ignores the workers, gazing silently ahead as he finds his way to the floor with all the rooms. Angels intuition leads him to the farthest down one, where if he's correct his bags will already be piled up inside....and yeah, he's right. Nye had opted for a non-made up room, and besides the bed that's already there its completely bare. He sets about meticulously unpacking each bag and setting things up in the room.
He works fast, and by the time he's done only twenty minutes has passed, but his efforts have been rewarded. His room almost looks like his old one now. The beds still the only thing directly on the floor but mini shelves have been putty glued to the wall, now holding various items like books or even some pictures. His large gray comforter and red silk duvet now adorn the bed. Nye's clothes are all placed in order in the closet. After a moment of thought he changes into one of the suits, a plain black one with pinstripes and a gray tie to go along. As an after thought he spritzes a small bit of cologne on. In his view Nye sees it as being classy and making a good impression.
Earlier he had seen a sign in the elevator about heading for the conference room, so he heads there briskly. There's someone already there before him, a young woman with a dazzling set of wings. A fairy, most likely of water. As an ex-lawyer he can easily identify her, more so because he had defended one of her kind before. He smiles at her, but otherwise does not initiate contact with her. He takes note of the size of this room in particular, sensing that it meant this would be a large group of people here. He wonders if there are any like him. He knew plenty of angels who had a strong sense of justice like him, maybe one of them would be here too. But then again this is a human based team, so he figures that's unlikely.
He taps his feet against the floor as he waits for the others to get there. He imagines the various kinds of people that could walk through that door. Demons, humans, spirit, human, and more angels. Long ago he wouldn't have been able to imagine such a diverse group coming together for the greater good of all, but now its not such an odd thing to think about. He glances again at the blonde and blue haired fairy girl, she seemed to be nice Even if she had yet to say anything. Nye could just tell that somehow he would get along with her. Fairies in general are easy for Nye to get along with. He looks up at the clock, not because hes impatient but Because he's actually starting to get that itchy feeling. Being confined to one room without doing anything makes him nervous.
To counter the nerves attacking his system he checks out nearly every inch of the room. Hoping that the others would soon arrive.
Nat gets to the building, and as soon as she steps in there is a man there asking her if she needed help finder her room or carrying her things. She excepts his help as they head there way to the elevator. They get to a forth floor were there are rooms, the man shows her to her room and tells her where to go for the meeting. She says her thanks and he leaves.
She goes into her room to find just a queen sized bed put right next to the window and dresser at the foot of the bed. Nat first before anything else takes her necklace and puts it on. She places her clothes into the dresser. She finds her pictures of her and Josh and puts them on top of the dresser, and then some of her mother. She finishes up her room quickly and sets her lap top on her bed and her empty bags in the closet in the far left corner of the room.
She heads for the elevator and goes to the floor with the conference room. She see's a girl skipping her way to the room and says sarcastically to herself out loud "This must be a fun meeting if there's people skipping to it".
She opens the door and walks in and sees there's already some other people here besides the girl in the hallway.
"Please don't go!" Screams six year old Dina, completely wrapped around Tess Harmony's left leg. her little fingernails scrape against pale skin, causing Tess to wince slightly. Micah stands with his arms crossed by Ariel's crib, not amused at all by the situation. He's also not helping, so Tess is left trying to pry the little blonde angel off of her leg. After a few minutes of struggle she manages to dislodge the child, kneeling down to look her in the eyes.
"I won't be gone forever Dina," She promises with a smile, cupping her younger sisters cheek.
Dina sniffles but nods, launching herself at Tess with more force than what a six year old should exert. After Tess pulls away she walks on unsteady feet to Ariel's crib, peering in at the brunette baby. She's fast asleep, not at all bothered by the commotion. she brushes a bit of her hair back, leaning in to kiss her cheek. Lastly she hugs Micah, making sure he knows all the emergancy numbers he will need. She honestly doesn't want to leave them, especially not so soon after their mother died. But this is the best opportunity she's been given in a long time. She pats Dina on the head as she heads for the door.
"Be good for Micah," She says as an afterthought, disappearing out the door and quickly hopping in her silver Altima. Before anymore distractions can be had she peels out off the driveway, heading quickly for the building she'll be living at and working at. The second it comes into view she gapes - its huge! She finds the parking lot with the assistance of a man working outside the building, finding an easy space to park her car. She grabs up her two bags filled with clothes and hygiene products. They arnt too heavy but she makes haste to get to the door and use her bracelet to get in. She has as other worker show her to her room. Its spacious, fitted with nearly all her stuff already; She sent it early so she wouldn't procrastinate in moving in.
A large vanity table sits against one wall, her bed in the rooms center, two nightstands on either side. The walls are lavender, like she had requested and the borders a deeper purple color to match her comforter and pillow set. Her desk sits against the wall by the door, her computer already there but not yet hooked up. She puts away her clothes quickly, changing from her sweaty street clothes to a better pair of loose fitting jeans and a white shirt that flairs out at the sleeves. She straightens our her messy hair before leaving the room.
Once in the elevator she spots a sign that says for her to go to the conference room. Since she has nothing better to do she does just that, noticing a girl with black and blue hair saying something sarcastic about another person. Tess frowns, and she can't stop the words from flowing out.
"Sarcasm isn't very nice you know, we have to work with her. She could be a really nice individual." She says to the woman as she follows her into the meeting room.
Kalus touches the necklace his sister had given him for luck, in the mountains of his world they call it an Amot. It's concealed underneath his plain black t-shirt, right against his heart. He clutches the strap of his back pack tighter and walks in the building. People bustle around, and he finds a clerk at a desk. "Do you know where I can find my room?" Kalus asked the pudgy man with glasses. "Name?" The man asked briskly. "Kalus-" he began, but the man cut him off, "Floor three, first on your left." Kalus nodded his thanks and walked to the elevator. His wings bristled slightly as they went up, and Kalus remembered flying up the mountain his family lived on.
He quickly found his room, it was tastefully furnished. Mahogany dressers and desks and table tops, a rich cotton bedspread on his king sized bed and all of his clothes neatly tucked away. He dropped his back pack on the ground beside the door and explored a little. He washed his face off, examining his owl-like eyes. They were bright and alert, ready for whatever challenges this life can hold. He splashed some water on his face and ran his fingers through his naturally highlighted hair. Kalus dried off and went to the second floor to find the conference room. He heard women talking not too far away and followed. The room was already occupied with a variety of people, and he puts a sly grin on his face.
