1. The heroes village always gets destroyed.

2. Every shop keeper in the game has infinite gold, even the smallest shops have 9,000,000 gold to buy the magical enchanted 3 shot kill everything in the game that you beat 90% of the game for.

3. One man army, too over used, nuff said.

4. Even if you have a squad, they're content with doing nothing while you go rushing into the insanely large group of enemies while they sit there.

5. Boss fights, different looks, do more damage, and have more HP. That's it. You just shoot then until they die. Just like the other 90 monsters in the game.

6. Food, and candy bars heal injuries -.-

7. At the end, of almost every game, you end up saving the world from darkness and evil or destruction.

8. You always get separated from your squad mates / regimen /team some how.

9. You're ALWAYS the point man.

10. You're always getting detoured from your objective by the most ridiculous things. (Way is blocked by 3 foot high crates, door is locked, earth quake suddenly happens and the ceiling collapses over the door when you're 2 feet away from it, "OMFG 2 MANY ENEMIES (Looks around and see's 3 enemies blocking the door when you just slaughtered hundreds of enemies in the last level, your character takes a detour because he doesn't want to take on a couple more enemies)

11. The heroes girlfriend, wife, family, relative gets taken away and supposedly gets kill, you find out they're alive in the middle of the game

12. The heroes mode of transport ( Ship, car, whatever) explodes RIGHT AFTER he get's away from it.

13. When you get you get shot 4 times in the chest, kicked in the face, get cut by a freaking chainsaw wielded by a 9 foot zombie thing, and get shotgun blasted to the face, and you have 1 hp, you still function correctly like you're health. When you get 0 hp, you suddenly drop dead.

14. You can carry 5+ weapons at once, several health packs, 4 grenades, and have armor and ammunition with you without it slowing down your movement, and can survive a shotgun blast, but fail to step over a 2 foot barrier that's stopping you from your objective.

Post yours here =D

The double jump - most video game characters like defying physics on a day-to-day basis.

Feminine looking heroes - this only really applys to JRPGS.

Platforming - Fustrating platforming gameplay is ensured in most games.

Pointless gimmicy bullshit - Moving statues on pressure pads to open the door, getting x code from y place and locked doors all fall under this catagory.

in fighting games, instead of pressing just up to jump, the game makes it so you have to tap it twice fastly, otherwise youll dive to the left or right, a feature which never gets used.

The start button is to pause.

The poor select button is allways neglected.

*sniffle*

But, poor little select button, his father and mother, the left and right shoulder buttons abandoned him, leaving him in button orphanage, where he was surrounded by right analog-sticks and beaten contantly, thats when he met the start button, his childhood freind, but as they grew up they grew apart, the start button abandoning select for fame and fortune, and it just wasnt right analog sticks anymore, triggers, shoulder-buttons, x, y, b and a were shunning him not, untill he was eventually adopted by the xbox 360 controller and led a quiet, but loneley life living lext to the metal (X) button.

# Magical Inequality Theorem
In the course of your travels you may find useful-sounding spells such as Petrify, Silence, and Instant Death. However, you will end up never using these spells in combat because a) all ordinary enemies can be killed with a few normal attacks, making fancy attacks unneccessary, b) all bosses and other stronger-than-average monsters are immune to those effects so there's no point in using them for long fights where they'd actually come in handy, and c) the spells usually don't work anyway.
# Magical Inequality Corollary
When the enemy uses Petrify, Silence, Instant Death, et cetera spells on you, they will be effective 100% of the time.

Most annoying rule ever -_-"!

"Mommy, why didn't they just use a Phoenix Down on Aeris?"
Don't expect battle mechanics to carry over into the "real world."

No matter how many times the princess gets kidnapped by King Koopa, she ALWAYS is safe at the end of the game.

1: The main character sometimes never speak, but somehow communicates with others with a nod of the head or a yes or a no.

2: Women's breast defy the laws of gravity. Dead or Alive women. Ivy from Soulcalibur >>

3:The Main character pimps almost all girls in the game.( Persona 3 )

4:Sephiroth will own most of the people who play a game with him in it.

Your number 10 is so so correct, I mean you will kill thousands of monsters then there will be 3 that look exactly the same as u just killed and now u cannot get em....
Also the double jump was a great one.

Yeah, it's ridiculous. * You mow through thousands of enemies with ease*. * You spot an enemy group consisting of 5 that you could easily kill in two seconds* But NOOOOOOOOOO, It's safer if we go the 5 miles AROUND them. Shit...

The other great one, is in almost every game where you cannot jump, if there is a step that is more then to your knee you cannot go past it, yet behind it is a huge pile of gold, or a weapon on the wall that looks perddy.

Little known fact: most video game characters jump without bending their knees. Try it: You won't go above 3 inches... There are a few games however where characters actually over bend their knees and end up not getting very high in the air at all.

At the beginning of your 'death defying quest' Some guide like person is always willing to give you basic items so you don't get totally owned out of the gate.

When fighting a boss he either gets easier to kill near the end or harder to kill. He never is consistent.

You complete some sort of training program in the beginning and after completing it, you get thrown into an environment which is easier than the training...

The boob defense: The less armor female warriors wear the more defense they have. Conversely the more armor males wear the better protected they are.

No matter how hard you read, there will allways be aspects of the game you didnt know would exist untill you bumped into them.

if the main character doesnt have an freaky hair style then its not a Jrpg.

If the main character isnt a fenimine looking man who allways reveals his chest all the time, then its not a Jrpg.

Physics do not exist in Jrpgs, boobs too big to not weigh the girls down with real physics, HUGE, AND I MEAN MOTHERFUCKING HUGE swords that are swung around like knifes and, ironicly in some cases, you can never jump outside of battle yet some of the specail moves have jumps that soar like, 100 meters into the motherfucking air.

Well, there's always gonna be a game that breaks cliches, though they aren't always good.

And Kratos uses 2 swords, noob.

I guess it's a cliche that no matter what region a male or female character is from, even if they're sexless and from space, they somehow end up with an anonymous American accent.

Oh, I got one.
Gigantic plot twists in jrpgs are either genius or just plain silly.
Example, Star Ocean Till The End Of Time.
I mean, come on! It spoiled the entire game!
