I'm picking up a bunch of PC games to play

Right now on my list is:
europa universalis III and expansions (never played Europa games, but it looks very fun and challenging...and I've heard good things about it)

Mass Effect and/or The Witcher (not sure if to get both or just one...both sound really good, so I'll probably pick up both)

And thats it, so 3 games on my list that I've found so far. Any of you guys/gals recommend any others? Preferably somewhat new...not too outdated and ones that have already been released.

I like RPGs and Strategy games. I really really like Sci-Fi but fantasy/medieval games are really good too. Money isn't an issue and my PC can run any game that is out.I also like a longer played game, meaning I don't like playing for a few hours and thats it..I like to be able to play for awhile without it suddenly ending quickly. And I do like a good storyline in a RPG. As for strategy, I don't like rushing or anything...Command and Conquer is a good example, it feels like I have to rush and attack very quickly...too fast paced for me.

Thanks for any help :)

Gears of War isn't an RPG, or a strategy game.

Age of empires 3?, I thought it was pretty good, 2 is also alright but 3 is a lot better. Eve Online is really good if you are willing to pay monthly fees.

Sins of a Solar Empire is a sci-fi strategy that has huge and long battles. Also, there's plenty of 4X strategy games that are sci-fi, like galactic civilization.

Mr. Robot was a fun platformer/RPG. Elder Scrolls:Oblivion/Morrowind, Fallout 1/2 (a bit dated) and Star Wars:KotOR are all good RPGs.

Edit:Warhammer 40k series

I say Mass Effect, It was fun on the 360....

I got bored of it after my 3rd play through, the main story line was short and I found my self running from point A to point B just to be reward with a little cash. I did make a vanguard/soldier character, it was fun combing 2 classes skill together and create a monster. :p

That's pretty much why they don't make it a 3 part game.

Bored after 3rd play through? come on.. what were you expecting, boredom after the 10th?

RPG: Mass Effect or Fable (considering its near enough free now). Don't buy Assassin's Cread its good but way to easy and has no replay value.
RTS: Easy! Warcraft 3 needs to played and dawn of war is good to.

FPS (That really should be bought): Bioshock if nyour PC can handle it buy it! The Orange Box i havn't met one person that doesn't like Portal it completely kicks ass and Half Life 2 and Team Fortress 2 got 3rd and 1st place in PC gamer's top 100 PC games ever. Portal was 6th btw.

FPS : Bioshock, COD4, gears of war isn't a FPS , but a FPS, still god damn fun as hell. ( All vista compatible)

RTS : Warcraft 3, srsly, just get it ( Works on vista? Yesh.)

RPG : Fable's a good one, Star wars KOTOR are good but DON'T GET IF YOU HAVE VISTA, YOU HAZ BEEN WARNED. The Witcher, mass effect.

RPG: Fabal (considering its near enough free now).

Knights of Honor is a good single player strategy, thought not many people have heard of it. You get a kingdom in Medieval Europe and play until you either conquer all of Europe or get voted Emperor. I really enjoy it. You can try the demo, it lets you play Scotland I think for a period of time until the game ends abrubtly.

Fallout 2 is old but a great classic!

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, even though a bit linear is a fun game (small though) and has nice graphics

Dungeon Siege 1 and 2 are also good ones.

Assassins Creed has one of the best graphical aspect I ever seen in a game but the gameplay/story seems linear as well but its worth it IMO

Okay here are mine. I'm listing two for each, at least one of each will be out already.

RTS: Company of Heroes/Dawn of War II (March 2009)

FPS: Crysis is apparently good, Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 if your a tactical shooter person, and CoD4 if your a run and gunner.

RPG: The Witcher, Mass Effect, Fallout 3 (Sometime this year I can't remember the date)
