I've been to other forums and recently skim searched what people think about the game. Many people think its a ripped Maplestory including the same jobs and similar skills. I think the same, a scandal and ripped off remake of Maplestory. Not trying to bring a fight here but what do you guys think of it?

Well I do think it's kinda lame how they can't even add some new additional classes, I mean seriously just a tiny bit of originality would be nice

obviously walking into new york, scream that yankees suck, and saying you werent looking for a fight is just as irrelevant as your reply to why the guy was sick of people saying games are rips. You went into a crowd of MMO fanatics, screamed that their game is a rip, and declare yourself neutral. "little boy" are fighting words around these parts.

Well, dragongem is more of a Maplestory clone. They have the same general idea but the skills are different (and harder to understand), graphics are smoother (but not exactly better), and has different weapons. So, I don't think that this is a wizet scandal.

Indeed, Dragon Gem is much more quest-oriented.

it's just another company trying to cash in on the maple story fanbase with hopefully a more addictive game.

However, in the screenshots I've seen of it, it looks like they ripped all their sprites, or told 5 different people to make them with no guide lines. the playable characters lookfine, but some monsters have ugly blackness around them like they were enlarged to much, while others just look out of place, especally with the map since it's all drawn and perfect, not all pixel-y like the characters.

right.

maplestory characters doesn't look much like dragongem's character. and for the jobs.. well. archer,mage,warrior,thief are the main jobs in most mmorpg.

-Sighs- Did Maple invent side scrollers? No. Did Maple invent those classes? No. And theres only so far you can go with skills, I mean geez, I think they took it the furthest with "Fart". And so what if the art is similar? If I wanted to make an Anime-style side scroller I wouldn't let Maple stop me. And its not exact, their similar indeed, but thats only becuase they go along the same line ( Fantasy, Side scroller )

In my opinion Dragon gem is better than Maple. Why? Becuase I had more fun on Dragon and it was a much smoother enjoyable experience. Maple gave me that crazy grinding drag feeling.

Side note: People who are going to go "LOL HOW U NO IT NOT OUT TIL 24TH" It was released for a extreme short while at the beginning of the month. And in that short time span I am already more impressed with this than all the time I played Maple.

You need to be lvl 10 I beleive.

I played Maple from 1 week after beta release(Long time ago) stoped playing a few mounths ago(got to the 50's in Windia and it just started to bore me).

But from what I've seen so far DragonGem is adressing allot of my problems I had with Maple, and throwing it into a perty package aswel! My problems with maple were: Not enough worth while quest(mostly gather quest), The infamous grind, thiefs only had one dagger/katar(I wanted duel weapons! ok small point, but still), and the most fun I had playing Maple was the party quests(Lv20 one, and the Lv35 one) yet only 2 party quests...

They seem to address all those problems while keeping the features I like(simple interface, controls that aren't just click monster with mouse allot, side scroller like my old SNES games that I miss).

So is it like Maple? yes. But just like WoW improved on Everquests style game, hopefully, this will improve on maple!

are you serious?!? YAY, i stopped playing maple just 'cause of that, i hated that all i can do is grinding. So do i get more exp from quests in dragongem?

Let's see, you think classes are the same? WELL, the last time I checked, warroir, archer, mage, thief, were in just about EVERY OTHER GAME. Skills you say? Which skills, I'm pretty sure if you wanted to argue about it having the same skills, bring out every other game ever made and see if Maple Story is original. But you must learn that in this forum a title like; "DragonGem a Wizet scandal?" can mean alot. If you plan on bringing up a topic like this dont think that no one is going to fuss.

The graphics, it's all the same, FlyFF is similar to ROSE, Breeze is similar to Battle Position and vice versa. The main difference between DGW and MS is gameplay, so please, stop the stupid ripping off crap.

DragonGem was developed before MapleStory. Yeah, now everyone go into shock... It was just introduced into english LATER...

Agreed. Heck, they are both clones of every other 2D platform game ever made. ;)
