I don't think so. If you're using junk gear, just replace it when you find a better piece (or even BUY it... it's still cheaper than PD4). Upgrading = big waste of PD4=money.

If you're using rares then it might be worth a thought, but these will be replaced with the next higher version as well, or with junk gear. If you don't have too many failures during upgrading you might get a good deal of the money back when you sell the stuff, and of course the stuff will be better while you use it :-)

Be careful with putting elements on weapons --- it appears that having the "wrong" element on your weapon will actually make you do LESS damage. Same for suits; I currently don't put elements on either.

"Depends". Common word has it that Knights should have no/little dex (let's say 30 max), while Blades should have more (I think it was 70 or 80).

I'm not enitrely confident that this is a good thing to do --- my merc who's going Knight has no dex, and he's having a hard time. The theory is that I'll be using skills later on (and skills don't miss), but I don't even remember what a full FP bar looks like :-)

1. No 1st class items should hvae +'s on them unles its the level 45 rare weapon or lvl 45 full set.

2. Only put dex in if you are a planning on being a blade. If you want to be a knight, then add mostly stam and you'll be skill spamming the whole time. Skills don't miss unles it says otherwise.

Blades don't die more than any other class. With their dex they have high evasion, and if they have an RM/Assist partnered with them, they can kill reallly fast, and possibly before a monster could damage them

I'm just level 20, but I don't die much or something. I miss hardly anything, and I'm having a good time. :)

And about the Elemental thingy, for the skill Inpower Weapon, you need an Elemental Enchanted Weapon right? I need that skill, 'cause I need Sword Mastery.

Yep you need to add an element to your weapon.

And you won't notice your Blade build until around level 40 or so, that's when most builds kick in, and classes start seperating.

There's really not much to say, they are the generic melee class. Swords, axes, and shields. Have a lot of attack skills, and some good self buffs. Very tedious to level due to the lack of excitment they generate.

But there second classes are pretty cool, I really enjoy being a knight.

By "classes start separating" he means that they feel very much the same early on. If you're playing a support assist, the lack of combat stats pretty much shows right away, but if you're comparing Knights and Blades... they both start as mercs and they are both bashing monsters. So it takes some levels/stat points until the differences are felt.

As for mercs... there is no restat (unless you buy one from the cash shop or ingame (LOTS of penya)) at the lvl 60 class change, so you'll have to build your merc as whatever you want him to be later on.
If anything, I see people recommending a restat for Knights --- "build them as Blade, then restat". So you should be just fine if you want to be a Blade anyway :-)
