He's just mentioned Spore...which looks like a pretty awesome game. In my opinion the best one I've played would probably be the Age of Empires or the Starcraft series.Starcraft I would only reccomend for fun and online play. Age of Empires is more difficult and requires a lot more strategy. Warcraft games are pretty nice, but, again, are pretty easy. Seems like Blizzard likes to make easy games. :p
Edit: There was another game I was thinking of. It was similar to what Spore is going to be, where you start off small and work your way up. If I remember I'll edit this post.

You guys all forgot about black and white 1 & 2. You play as a god and you have to get poeple to worship you.

Spore is not out yet at all, yet i do know i will probably buy it if it does ...
and besides Black and White series, i don't really know another god rpg.
(black & white 1 is the better of the 2, they kind of screwed up the entire god idea in the second one by replacing it with a more rts-like idea)

The Populous series. You get your powers from people worshipping you.

"Zeus: Master of Olympus" is a good game. "Homeworld", (only the first) is a great RTS game.
Now then, actual Godsim games, you probably would like "Black & White 2", which I see you mentioned(atleast the first one).

Zeus Master of Olympus is the one the best games ever.
The Sims is also one of the best.

black and white 2 sucks, man. Spent so much on graphics, and Made it so your creature was so easy to teach and train. also, the creatures are crappy, you can only pick from four. and IT LAGS MAJOR If your graphics arent like, the latest you can get.
EDIT: I've only heard good things about Black and White 1, and there are like.... 20-ish or more creatures, plus you can switch creatures.

Populous 2: Trails of the gods, is quite a simple game, but though it's boring as well, i just downloaded it off from Home of the Underdogs, i have to use DOSBox to play it cause it's a DOS game.
I played Age of Mythology years before, i don't got the expansion set, but i do have the first one. The game is ok, but i got bored of doing the samn damn thing over and over again. I wish there was a community that chould add maps and mods for the game.
I'm going to try out that Zeus game you told me about and that homeworld, if both of them are free to download, or there's a demo. I know that zeus game have a demo but don't know if there is a free game itself. I doubt Homeworld is free.

The original Populous for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System was by far the best god based game I have ever played, most knock offs don't even come close.

Alot of the games being said are RTS games, not god games...
Off the top of my head I can't think of much. There were alot of older sim games that were kinda overlooked that you could probably get in one of those old-sim games combo packs.... simtower, the original simcity, etc. etc... All the other ones I can think of have been listed... Populous, The Sims...
Tycoons really aren't god games, but you can do god-game type things in them... like in zoo tycoon, shut off the exit and let a bunch of hungry animals run loose and kill everyone...
And this is completely off-topic... but Dark... Does the home of the underdogs still exist? Last time I tried it I got a 404... and now I can't remember the URL...
