I got a 7600GS i should be goood cuz this card is new... even people with 9800 Pro gets better fps then me.


i don think is my card..... but my fps drops random... even wit 3v3 or less.

back to cs 1.6 :(


and on BF2 is all good... 20v20 i get 40+ fps all day doesnt drop.. only on BOmb.

man... need like a 7800GT+ so that FPS never drops.. so gay ^_^

As a note, I run a 9800Pro, 2.8ghz AMD, 1gig ram, SBLive, and all tihngs source run ok for me (I have to tune down my setting on some like Empires, but that is it)

Choke = your problem, not FPS

Choke = a bottle neck some where in your path, if it is spiking that is your problem

For net_graph 3:
In and out are the response times for incoming/outgoing trafic
FPS is your actual FPS (60+ is good, though other rates are good as well, and you can compensate)
Loss is BAD, if you are getting high choke/loss you have serious issues

Rate, well rate is a matter of prefferance, and can be ussed to exploit, but what ever

If you FPS is fluctuating, then THAt is what fpsmax is for.

say my FPS fluxes between 65 and 80, if I set FPS max to 100 I see tearing.
if I set it for 60ish then I get a nice CLEAN image (60 is what you are realy aiming for, anytihng over is nothing special)

no it doesnt...theres just more noobs on CSS,get used to it...play a hardcore server



and finally CS:S has fine Frames Per Second ok...your computer is jsut having problems with it,i can play 1.6 on all igh and CSS on almost all low/medium, theres no difference.god

Natural Selection (HL mod)
Dystopia (HL2 mod)
Empires (HL2 mod)

Games that require some amount of intellegence to be able to play.

CS gets boring very quickly, the maps are small, the routes to/from areas are limited, and the guns are choked down to only a few of them being worth it.


Almost no one ever actualy attempts to go for objectives, they just go to get the highest # of frags.

yah, I play CS every now and again when I feel like some mindless slaughter, however there are jsut so many better games out there.


oh, and I do aggree, CS:S > CS. Not sure exactly what it is about it, but more poeple seem to actualy play as a team instead of ramboing off....

So how would one fix a choke problem in CSS?? mine spikes to 80 and then bases out at about 50

and with choke, it depends on your connection, if you have a 2mbs+ download set it in console

cl_updaterate 20 or cl_updaterate 100

cl_cmdrate 20 or cl_cmdrate 100

lower cl_xxxxx rates are less choke, but kind of higher ping, but not by much. one depends on your FPS and the other depends on the servers speed.


Also with the rates cl_cmdrate and cl_updaterate I believe its 1-100 you can type, but some servers have maximums and minimums.

All I can say is make sure you have the newest drivers. Also turn your graphics in CS:S all the way down, check your frames. If they are good, slowly start turning the settings back up until you figure out which one is the problem child. Not that the computer can't run it somethings they're just finnicky. :)

Also maybe try switching from fullscreen to windowed or visa-versa.
