Infinity is an open-ended game in which you control a spaceship throughought the entire galaxy, trying to make a name for yourself. You connect to an online server on which thousands of people are playing, 24/7. The game does not stop when you log off, but continues to evolve: it is a persistent universe. The game mechanics do not emphasize any particular gameplay style. Combat, trade, exploration, social relationships.. you are free to choose your own carrier path and goals. The only limit is your own imagination!

Infinity is not a traditional role playing game. Although all players are expected to act in concordance with their avatar's motivations, there are no classes or skills to restrict your choices. Combat between spaceships is in true real-time, and the outcome is determined by your own intelligence and reflexes. Forget turn-based action and experience the great excitement of a first person experience!
A bar...

Using procedural techniques, the game universe has been designed to be huge and realistic. There are billions of solar systems and planets, each unique and awaiting to be discovered by a player... maybe you ? Coherent scales and distances are used, orbits of celestial bodies are correctly modeled and change continuously, allowing you to attend a sunrise on the moon of a giant planet, for instance.

Estimated time before first playable release: 1 to 2 years (in best case).

To bad this game is not even reached an alpha stage yet.

You know what that means, this belongs in the "game development" forum.

All I care about is if I can get a good EnB replacement.

note: 90% of all origanal EnB players are disatisfied with EvE. (I myself tried EvE and lost interest half-way through the 14 day trial)

I wish the Infinity Online site was more updated so that I could give it to the people working on the EnB emulator, I'm sure that they'd really enjoy somthing like this.

Wow... sounds like a crappy clone of EVE Online to me.

Just as EVE Online is just a crappy clone of the other few space FPS games before it

Have you tried Freelancer? And what is this EnB emulator? Also, isn't there a EnB private server somewhere out there?

Also, this game looks awesome, but a bit early to be posting it in this forum ^_^

Freelancer is a good single player game, the multiplayer is really just for 20 minutes of amusement.

The EnB emulator, over at www.enb-emulator.com (already proved it was leagal hear in a previous thread), is an ongoing attempt to ressurect the long loved Earth and Beyond. Currently, the community have finnally got a global login and character creation server going. (We're still waiting for the playable server)

And no private server was ever completed before this. EA used a very complicated RSA key in their server files and many often gave up trying to build an emulator. The ENB emu community has gotten so far because they took a long path path to building the emulator. Instead of breaking the RSA key, they're working their way around it with sending random hex packets to the client to see if and what different hex codes cause the client to do. But, as said, the emulator is a long way from finished.
