After seeing a few build suggesting this idea and noteing that battle sage/prof are few to none I decided to try to make my own guide and a few example builds. (I did try this out on another server and it worked well) Also this type of build is if you want something reather then the avrage that is fun to play and is a real show for anyone who is watching. It is a real show because you are atking while casting and at the same time you will be auto casting a spell to add up the damage! (I for one think that Gravity had the idea that sages will be able to support or use a mixture of spells while doing face to face combat. The reasons I think this is because they made free cast so you can atk when you cast they have hindsight that auto casts when you atk so using these two together it seems this was a plan for sages. Not to mention they can use daggers and can have book atk bosted.)

Pros=
1) You will be able to dodge alot or have high vit
2) It is something diffrent and it is very flashy
3) You will be able to do PvM with style
4) It gives you chance to get the best of both magic and might
5) It is not as repeditive as other build you can real mix things up
6) Auto casting frost diver and if you could stun will help you stay alive longer
7) This type of build gives you more options for example you could stay back and and cast when solo but in a party you can be right up with the atkers dishing out alot of damage!

Cons=
1) You will have trouble with big mobs
2) You probly wont be able to implement battle till you are 80 (this depends tho)
3) You will probly lack in good WoE skills like ME
4) You will either lack in HP (which most sages do) or lack in Flee (most sages don't have flee) tho you will not have as high flee as other classes.
5) Geting a good set of items might be hard

Now that we got the pros/cons out of the way lets talk about stats. So basicly for this type of build you need alot of agi to dodge everything a tiny bit of dex to cast faster and hit. Some int so that you can do some damage with your spells and str so that your atks do some damage as well! Here is how your stats should go!

STATS-
Str-With a battle sage/prof you will need about 50-70 str this is so when you hit you do some damage

Agi-You will need alot of agi so you dodge more and pull out more auto casts from hindsight

Vit-Unless you are a huge WoE person you wont need much vit 1-20 should work (when you go sage I suggest 30-40)

Int-Altho you are a battle sage alot of your atk comes from magic since as a battle sage you add some atk from hindsight (which is the basic skill that lets you be a battle mage) also you are atking while you cast a larger spell so you will want 80-90 int

Dex-dex in a battle sage is not for cast time as a battle sage you will want a long cast time which might get you a little lost. The reason you want a long cast is so you can get some atks in and use your hind sight if you are spending all your time casting then you will not be geting the full of the hindsight and your atk. 30-40 dex is good.

Luk-Only have luk if you are going crit which by the way is awful from what I hear so you should have around 1 luk

SKILLS-
Now Skills I will not go into alot about skills you will not be using I will just say the ones that work best with a battle sage/prof

One thing you would know is that when you start out dont add to str and agi add to int and lvl like a normal mage start adding to agi after you have ok int.

MAGE-

All skills needed for hindsight so you can get the most out of it

Bolts-I suggest lvl 10 for all your bolts or atleast 8 since it will not cast to fast

Frost Diver-get either 1 or 10 I mean you might want to use it in hindsight but many people like this skill so you might want to get it to 10 incase you need to fall back on your mage side.

Thunder Storm-This does not need to be at lvl 10 you dont even need this at all if you get heavens drive but it is sometimes nice to have a AoE skill

Fire Ball-this you should get to lvl 2 unless you get fire wall which alot of you might then get it to 5

Fire wall-It is a good skill to train with when you are a mage or if you need to control a mob but when you solo you wont be using it much since you will be face to face with the monster

Soul Stirke and Napalm Beat-napalm to 4 and soul strike to 3 unless you want saftey wall soul strike is a good skill to use with hindsight

Increase SP Recovery- You will not be siting around much so you might not want to put alot in this

Energy Coat- This will let you take more of a beating

SAGE-

Free Cast-This skill is a must it lets you atk and cast also move and cast 10

Hindsight- This type of char is built around this move it lets you auto cast spells as you atk and cast thanks to free cast you need this at 10 as well here is the list of how it works. (one thing the chances are the chances of hindsight owrking not the chance of the spell you pick)
Allows a player to auto cast a certain skill while this is active, skill that is casted take 2/3 of normal sp, and skills not learned may not be auto casted.

Duration: (90 + 30(skill level))[s]

[Level 1] lvl 3 Napalm Beat/7% Chance to Cast
[Level 2] lvl 1 'Bolt'/8% Chance to Cast
[Level 3] lvl 2 'Bolt'/9% Chance to Cast
[Level 4] lvl 3 'Bolt'/10% Chance to Cast
[Level 5] lvl 1 Soul Strike/11% Chance to Cast
[Level 6] lvl 2 Soul Strike/12% Chance to Cast
[Level 7] lvl 3 Soul Strike/13% Chance to Cast
[Level 8] lvl 1 Fire Ball/14% Chance to Cast
[Level 9] lvl 2 Fire Ball/15% Chance to Cast
[Level 10] lvl 1 Frost Diver/16% Chance to Cast

Endows-these give your wep elements I say one you can always get you wep fixed

Study-This adds book damage it is good to get at lvl 10 if you have the points

(You could also add some other skills that would not be for a battle sage if you have extra points so that it would be a help in WoE)

PROF-

Double Cast-This will make you bolts stronger thus being able to kill alot faster

Blinding Mist-This will make it so you dont get hurt as much

I am sure there are other skills for prof that would help but these are the best fo a battle prof

EVERYTHING ELSE

Now you should use stuff that adds to agi int and str since these will help you the most I am sure you can find them on your own. You should use a Bible over a dagger altho sometimes a dagger might be better for the situation. A bible can have 2 slots and adds to int also it does not have to bad of aspd and atk. For the most part I am sure you could find what to use.

Incase you are not sure inwhich the way a battle sage works you put on hindsight select which ever you want to use start to cast a bolt then atk. While you atk you will be doing hindsight and then cast the spell you started casting then you redo that till it is dead. Battle sages are a fun class to watch as well as a play it is very difrent. Also with a phen card you could get hit and still cast so I suggest you get it.

I hope some of you might take this idea and run with it (I am sure a few of you have before reading this) I know it has been mentioned before but for any of you who did not know this is possible I did test it out. Please do not just have it shot this down this idea is for anyone who wants to try something diffrent! Now sages and profs can be more then just support and back up magic!

I will be addin a lvling guide maybe but the main thing you need to know is just worry about int when you start because you wont be lvling with with strength. Also you will need int because you magic does alot of the damage atmking just gets the auto casts out and adds to the damage. I tested it out in lou_dun03 which is a kind hard dungeon. I also soloed in moc_pryd04 and iz_dun04 which are slightly hard I will add more places. Tell me what you think and have fun!
(I changed it to more of a guide so no one would copy the stats xD)

P.S. I posted this around alot on many servers so something might sound like for servers that are large and what not xD

This guide wasn't apreciated.

So i'll buff it.

It became little help for my Sage. You shouldn't need and vit, and agi should be maxed.

Also, str only needs to be 45 max, and int 70.

Plus dex at 30.

But other then that, its good.
