To avoid confusion... I made this same post on Sleepywood.net Forums and this was taken from there.

I'll first start off by saying that I have a Ice/Lit and Beginner as my main. For the most part the Beginner only now but I know what it feels like to have the power to "ks" but also knows what it feels like to go through hell while training in Scania.

The gMS/oMS community is probably the worst out of all MS's seeing how I've played kMS and jMS, that's what I've come to realize. No offense because we all (or most of us) know it's true. So I thought about why our version is so gayed out.

The Word "KS"

Whoever made this word... must have been pretty retarded. I know it didn't start in MapleStory but people say it anyways. Who in real life or in their head while playing MapleStory really talks like that?

- "He just kill stole me!"
- "Don't kill steal me!"
- "Noob stop kill stealing!"

As apposed to:

- "He just stole my kill!"
- "Don't steal my kill!"
- "Noob stop stealing my kills!"

Yes complaining is annoying but... at least complaining in the right way is a little bit better and doesn't sound retarded. "Kill Stealing" just doesn't flow, ya know?

The People that "KS"

It is mainly the Sin and Mage population that "ks" people because of their long ranged and quick attacks. Archers have that power too but I rarely see it for some reason (could be wrong). Which is obviously a good thing.

What I'm thinking is that Sins and Mages DON'T have a high level character that is a Bandit, Warrior, or a Beginner. If they do I'll assume they hacked their way up there. If they didn't do that, they were probably leeched. If not that, which I doubt, I have no idea why the hell they think "ks"ing is fun.

Training these other characters suck when you have someone in almost every map telling you to "cc plx" and jackin kills if you don't.

What I Do...

I avoid KSing on my mage as much as possible. If I'm passing through an area I sometimes do on accident, apologize, and move on. Not that difficult of a thing to do and you get a better rep I guess. Well at least it feels better then getting into an argument or ks war. Other people might think differently but... yeah.

Obviously if someone is being retarded and trying to piss me off I'll ks them if they're on my map and that is a good excuse to do so. Other then this, I don't see a reason to "ks".

When I'm on my Beginner and I see a high level mage or sin come into the map and walk by without ksing I fame them if I haven't used it already. They sometimes fame me back too seeing I'm a beginner >_> or ask why I famed them. I tell them they're one of the few mages/sins that don't steal kills while passing.

And it's better to have people recognize me for being a nice player then to be recognized for pissing people off by ksing, arguing, and starting wars.

Defaming

Defaming is stupid when it comes down to people ksing me. I'd rather save it to trade later on and it's not like people care that much when they're defamed. It's not going to stop them from ksing me even more.

"cc plz"

Now I KNOW this started on MapleStory for a fact. It makes you sound stupid and obviously the person who invented that phrase is a kid wanting to train on "his map" alone.

Most of the time they don't have a decent reason. They just want the map to themselves and don't even think about splitting the map in half or in thirds (which actually creates better spawn and it's better for both people). But they obviously don't realize this. Partying could be another option which is kind of how MapleStory was made. That's why classes have weaknesses that need to be supported by another class. For example: Haste, Rage, Holy Symbol, Hyper Body, etc etc.

KS: The Stupidity

This is mainly about why KSing is a waste of time, which is probably what jMS/kMS people understand.

You get defamed. Yes this isn't even bad. Who cares about fame? But it commonly happens.

Bad reputation from their Guild Members and Buddies. Still not bad, you might get mass defamed but we go back to the who cares about fame" deal. Though it might get annoying =\

Now we get to the main stupidity of "ks"ing. You barely get any experience. Is there really a point in this? You just make yourself look like a jackass 'cause you get little exp, and the other guy gets pissed off and also gets little exp. Neither of you get much and the other guy hates you now.

Continuing with the looking like a jackass...

People who "ks" are ones that think they're hardcore. Prove me wrong about this because there's no other reason. But let me get this straight, you're trying to act tough in a video game with these little characters who are meant to look "cute" I guess. That's just retarded. It doesn't even work out. Not that "ks"ing in another game will make you look any tougher. It's a video game, YOU CAN'T BE HARDCORE. I think people who are like this in games must be weak and like to have the feeling of power in MapleStory. Well... you don't and that's just sad.

How to Stop KSing From Happening

Unfortunately there is no way. If MS was like some other MMO's where if a person attacks a monster, then another player can't, that would solve this problem. But we don't have that feature so tough luck right?

Maybe there are "ks"ers who read this and somehow they turn into an anti-kser like me. =] Didn't make the topic for that reason though. This was just basically a rant to give off my view on "Kill Stealing."

Agreed. When im at zombies (i have a warrior) i ALWAYS and yes always get ksed while killing... by 70% of the time... mages. they see my killing the zombie and YET they still hit hit hit... drives me mad!

There should be a map where there is "no range allowed" aka for warriors and bandits... that would be fun =P

I agree with MOST of what you said, but...asking people to "cc" isnt that horrible of a thing. I mean, if you are at an unpopular map...(not firedrakes, zombies, etc)...what does it hurt the person to leave? I mean, YOU were there first, and why should you lose your kill count because they decided to take up half your map. And GOD knows, people cannot share correctly. They get sick of "no spawn" and kill in your area anyway! I dont think "cc" is that bad. ESPECIALLY at mushmom (eventhough most people are *swears under breath* and wont leave anyway.)

But what also bugs me is if I'm just passing through, and I pick up two items that someone else didn't, and then someone ten LVLs below me comes along and says "OMG UR NOOB STOP KSING PLX"

I agree with everything DarkCoffin said. Trying to look hardcore by stealing kills doesn't work.
Also many people don't know that more people in one map spread out evenly actually means better spawning.
So that whole cc thing is just a result of ignorance.

Yes, sharing map with other people may create better spawn, but, what happens the one whom you shared with are killing more than you? What can't you think like this? And even though better spawn was created, the person you shared with could have use some mob attack and clear the spawn in one go! And seriously, for me, it's so difficult to find a decent party.

I´ve run into Kill Stealers. They were such a pain.

But now that I´m above level 20, I haven´t had a kill stolen from me once. I´ve met many people who wait for me to kill the monster before moving ahead.

It is really nice to see someone respect whats yours. I always smile at these folks.

get used to it. i got ksed all the way to 30 and at thirty it dosnt get ok with warriors till about lvl 50 or so

WOW WOW WOW that is a very meaningful post u put DarkCoffin I'm a MAGE and I think about that BUT when I see a noob killing a monster and It takes like awhile to kill it and I'm in a hurry to get somewhere I kill that monster to get where I need so I THINK ABOUT THAT.:)

I do the same as you with my mage. I occassionally just walk through a map, but when I accidentally ks someone I'll say I'm sorry. And, for some reason, people fame you for that. I did it on accident, said I was sorry, and got famed. WOOHOO!!! lol But really, the whole cc thing is true. When I used to train in the Mushroom Garden people would come in and start to kill the monsters, so i ask to party. I will admit, I do cc. Whenever I see a party just minding their own business I stay out of the way. I usually ask if I should cc, which is the smart thing to do seeing as how you may get invited to their party. :D I talk too much...I'll shutup now. :p

For "the people that ks" well yes, when i travel through a map i rather kill the monter before me before i get hit, is that ksing? no. I try to avoid the monsters when someone is training there, but it doesnt work always.
But the other side is, when i only travel through lets say zombie maps, i get a ccplox (or any similar stupid comment) when i just enter. People need to learn that this is a MULTIPLAYER game. Noone owns ANY map, unless they bought the server and wizet.

Defaming is not working well mostly, i rather re-fame my budddies but sometimes it works also. Some idiot fscked up with a guild member and got from 150 to -50 fame, he still sits in nath channel1 and begs for fame now. But only do this if he/she is REALLY retarted.

cc plz, all chars that say this simply should be banned by a bot.

Last point, yes. Players are getting their chars up (legit or not) and then think their somewhat special, i mean wth? As said in my "posting and you" topic long ago, you can be a lv20 player and well known as youre a nice one or you can be lv199 and still an idiot, level dont make you better;)

2xtrme i know wht u mean training from lvl 30 to like 35 was a drag always gettin ksed but around after 35 i didnt have to worry that muchbecuz i could preety high dmg for my level

heres an idea take your own advice and "get over yourself"
the community has been and probably always will be like that until wizet decides to put there foot down and try their best to make it a better place for people to enjoy themselves.

i really hate the fact that the community is so assholish and full of immature people who think that making me loose a number is offensive

Happens to me all the time and it's the dumbest fucking thing ever. I'll be flipping through channels in the ZLupin trees trying to find an empty one, and I'll get people spamming "CCPLOX" even though I a) have been their for half a second and will leav in half a second, b) have darksight on, and thus not posing a threat, or worst of all c) have darksight and a freaking whip.

The main problem I have with "cc" is that it's just a kneejerk reaction for some people. Come into their map for a split second and you get "cc." The dumbest thing about this is that 95% of the time, when someone comes into my map and I'm training, they cc within a few seconds. Now I doubt this is because they get scared of my character; it's probably because they either want to avoid stupid conflict, or they realise that they are much better off finding their own freaking map. And I doubt this only happens to me. People who spam "cc" need to understand that if the person has any shread of decency or intelligence, they will change channels of their own accord. Finding your own map in most places isn't that hard, and you'll get much better exp that way.

Course, when someone is too stupid to realize this, that's when KSing becomes an issue (after politely asking them if the could find a different place to train, which probably won't work). Here's what I think of the issue: KSing is somewhat justifiable in defence of your training area. Outside of that, if done on purpose, you're an asshat. Coming into to a map where someone is peacefully training and KS-ing the shit out of them has no purpose than to inflate your e-penis. And everyone knows your e-penis is inversly proportinal to your real penis.

Granted, there are some small exceptions to all of this. A good number of maps work fairly well with multiple people, or are just really popular, and thus KSing and "cc" are worthless and idiotic in those cases. Land of the Wild Boar for example: while you could probably get even better exp than you already do if you're the only one on the map, since it's basically the only place for all classes lvl 30-35+ to train, asking people to leave is futile and stupid.
