NOTE: This topic is not about hating Jagex. The reason i post this is that i want more people to realize how pathetic the RuneScape community is. that they will change. There is a chance of 0,001% that this will happen though.

firstly, read how happy the people are just to hear the word 'runescape':
well it against the CoC and they have always banned people for wierd things. I got banned for not selling a Sara helm for 100gp to a mod

You want to hear my story?

It's a story of over 4000 letters, but ill shortify it.
Got hacked, lost 12 million gp including over 10 dragon items, and 30 rune items. (1500 rune arrows and knives, plus over 30 rune items like platebodys, legs, etc)
Got hacked again, lost 3 million gp, including all my items.
Jagex got mad at me for not being carefull and PERMAMENTLY BANNED my account.

Wich means, i have been playing 8 months for waiting to get banned for 'not being carefull'.

Jagex pisses me off, I stopped playing after my account got -91 days credit when I hadn't been a member. I appealed. Denied. I also made a ticket about people attacking you in the wilderness and YOU being skulled, lost a crapload of stuff from that. Appealed. Denied, told me that they couldn't replace my items when i clearly stated in the appeal that I DID NOT want, nor need my items back.

As for Blizzard banning people on WoW... I've had over 8 tickets filed on me and I've yet to be banned.

I can still remember that i played RuneScape for the last time back in october 2005. It reminds me the time i have been posting in the RuneScape forums for a very long period with the purpose of helping people with what they need help with.
In the time i was gone, i have been on hundreds of websites for tutorials on html, java, xml, alias maya, and many more and gained experience in MMORPG'S and mmorpg development. I even started my own mmorpg discussion website wich im not allowed to mention due to the rules on runescape. Now im back, and realized i quite wasted the time i have been playing RuneScape. Sure, i had fun, but heres something i want to say. I'm not mentioning my own opinion in the following, but true facts.

RuneScape has a horrible community. The game is free wich results in all 7 year olds in the world start typing l337 with their 5 year old best friends. Not all people are like that, but it's yet more pathetic when older people start doing this. It's plain anoying and theres nothing that can stop it.
The word censors don't allow you to write a normal sentence as too many words are being censored. This is just plain anoying.

RuneScape's graphics are horrible. Unlike 99% of the people on runescape who state this, i'll explain why. The MMORPG is webbased and written in Java which focuses on having graphics compact enough to be loaded quickly in a browser. Altough this excuse is pointless to me, it has as point. There is no game client, wich results in millions of people ranting about it's graphics. I wanted to add the following; Jagex can do way better. Why don't they? I've seen much better work in Java. Much Much better. The graphics CAN be improved!

And i'd like to rant about Jagex aswell, but this might result in my friend being banned so i'd rather not. I do have several good points.

RuneScape's forums are badly designed in my opinion. The forum software i use is way better, and ill explain why. Signatures, avatars, etc can not be configured in a user control panel, i don't see any good reason why not. Also, it's board style is not good IMO.

This part of the post belongs to the Rants forum, but here comes the better part.
RuneScapes gameplay is just as good as ev... oops, i mean, most big titles. That's the reason why there are people who play it like there is no tomorow.
Altough runescape's gameplay is the only thing i like on runescape, it's also the best thing on runescape.
I don't want to offend Jagex, please don't take my rants offensive. I'm just trying to state several facts.

I enjoyed playing runescape for a long while. It really got me into MMORPG development too. RuneScape's gameplay is truly great!
It are the 7 year old's who ruined it for me though.
But RuneScape could be so much better if there was a downloadable client.

ok first off i understand where your comming from but thats really no reson for you to complain, i was hacked once, but it was something i did and i know not to do it, and you should go to the site and try to get your account un-banned, the reson for the graphics being bad is the result of so many people complaining that the game wont load for them, its made it easer for people that have slow computers with a bad connection to play the game, do you want to blame them for there computers being slow. and i dont want any one saying they should just get a new computer in your mind that might seem like the thing to do but to many people its not. then there is the forum for which you say is also bad...well would you rather have them make the forum the best thing in the world and always update thet and let the game come to a grinding hult so more people can post? i ask you this, did you change your pass the second time you were hacked? did you do every thing so it wouldnt happen again? i play runescape in my free time, i own 4 computers and the one that i use is just good for the low detal, my others are much faster but i only use them for other gamming and graphic design. i like the game and wont have nooblet people saying how bad it is sure there are stupid people in the game but just ignore them and move on....thats all i have to say on the matter.

I did everything humanly possible not to get hacked again.

100% agreed. what i noticed was that Jagex doesn't care what you, me, or the entire community say's. If you complain, you'll get banned.

Well... the l337 typing anoying community of runescape is usualy not older then 16 or something. And most 7 and 5 year olds are acting extremely immature by swearing at the nice and helpfull people of RuneScape, and that in l337. It's just plain anoying to see this happen. :mad:

eww...Jagex is just ewww. It urks me to see over five years of gameplay down the drain, but I have stopped playing the game for now. I may come back to it when I have a few spare moments. The 'abyss bug' has pretty much crippled my playing days. RS is too buggy when they first release updates and then multiple people exploit it, legit players sufffer, Jagex replies with a brick wall and an automated response.

It's sad to say but I believe mods have ruined the game. People begin reporting for no reason and I have yet to hear about some banned for abusing the Report system. And the Report System is broken, you get in return an auto-mated response and nothing done. I had 3 kids annoy me to no end (begging for free items, tele-others, and then they began slandering my family) reported them, and no response from Jagex about it.

RuneScape = broken and unfixable.
Members have benefits. Pssh. Benefits over next to nothing.

And yes I was playing RS in its BETA days. Back when a rune med, legs, squares, and long swords RULED all.

the game is too easy to be scammed in, ive been playing for 2 years, got hacked for around 14mil plus other items from people using hacks or password guessers. And the thing is if you die in the game you lose it all in ten seconds, 2 years stuff gone and jagex does nothing about it.. i remember i made a lvl 3 pure WC account wearing a blue halloween mask and 10mil and then i went to Al-Kharid to make a pure range / WC account so i went to Al-Kharid to kill those guards in the castle, i took a full inventory of trout and still wearing my mask then 3 lvl 20`s kept shutting the doors when i lost all my food and i died. and i reported them and they banned me for false reports for not banning within 50 seconds!!

runescape sucks. they should make the servers have less people in them or something. and they shouldn`t show your character name when you play. there should be a account then a character in the account otherwise its so easy to guess passwords. lm amazed zezima still has his account.

plus now its almost impossible to be good in that game before getting scammed. and all the people with the p-hats and dragon armour and people just swear at you for being a noob or for no reason.

O, and its so hard to be unique in RS so every1 is almost the same.

these are just some things i can think of that are problems:

too many perverts looking for GFs BFs,
graphics suck,
Nobody helps you, just kills you,
too hard to lvl alone somewhere without somebody ksing you,
Cant talk in towns, too many people spamming drowning you in people talking,
Lose your stuff when you die.

id like runescape if the servers had less people and if you dont lose everything when you die.

thats all the little stuff i have to say about me and runescape.

It would be awesome if you simply lost 5% or so of the combat stance you were in when you died. Also, I have applied for GM in a few games (don't bother asking my age, I'm over 18, that's all you need to know) but they want people with previous experiences, they both recommend Jagex but Jagex seem to be happy with a 10 moderator/customer suport team (check credits). 10 people, they make millions a year yet they feel that buying servers and naming them sydney, London etc and locating them in LA anyway is

more important than hiring new staff.

I don't want to hate Jagex, i want them to do something about the horrible community that got no control over itself. I hope atleast one Jagex member is going to read this and realize how damn horrible the community is and maybe a wonder will happen. runescape is not the worst game of all there are worse games

Jagex has always sucked at customer support, and bans. They pretty much answer your queries only with automatic responses, no matter if you are member or not. They ban innocents for false reasons, or very stupid ones such as saying the word "google" as website advertisement.

And I know what I'm talking about, I played this game on and off for 5 years before I quit.

Jagex is just like that, they aren't going to change, just live with it and hope they don't ban you for breathing.

Since someone bumped the topic, I will put in my two cents.
The runescape community is junk. The forum is set up horibly, the mods are dumb. Why do they have a future update and suggestions section is beyond me. I have been a member on and off for 3 years and never once was it to go on runescape forums.

I ike to play runescape but the thing is that the players are the worst thing in runescape other than its graplics and its gameplay. They like to ruin fun by hacking swearing bullying and scamming. I always have to fight back to stop them from bullying. I think Im on the border of continuing runescape for my lvl ups or stop before I suffering for another years to come


P.s Mods are BULLYS. They are the most Childlish players I've ever met

to be honest with you, I think you're overreacting, because my experience of MMORPGS, i've actually never, ever, seen someonoe say what you posted (even if it aint for runescape). i've seen people say stuff like 'Z0mg' or 'L0Lz'

Look, i don't think anybody with a proper pasion for gaming would necescerelly get addicted to it .

But, i have to say i did at one point of my life get slightly addicted to the game.
This ended because of an inccident with a mod.

I got really pissed of because he wanted me to sell him rune full for fifty thousend gp.
Therefore i used the ''f'' word.

I wouldn't say it was good language but, i was suprised he understood it because i wrote it like so 'fCk' but i guess i underestimated the power of a mod so i got permeanently banned.
